About me and my therapy practice
I understand how important the therapeutic relationship is—and how essential it is to find the right counsellor for you. That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute introductory video call.
During this call, you’ll meet me, hear about my approach, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If video calls aren’t your preference, I can also arrange a phone call.
Online Counselling
or virtual counselling all refer to the same thing: meeting for counselling sessions via video call. This format is just as effective as in-person counselling, with the added advantages of saving travel time and costs. It also allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own home or another private space.
Please note: to engage in remote counselling, you need to have access to a private & confidential space where you feel comfortable speaking openly.
How do I access online therapy?
I use Google Meet for our video sessions. You don’t need a Google account to join—simply click the link I send you, and you’ll be connected directly to the session.
I will be ready to meet you at the scheduled time using the link provided. Meeting links are sent up to 24 hours prior to your session's start time.

My name is Geraldine, and I’m a qualified and compassionate counsellor with a commitment to supporting people through some of life’s most challenging moments. Whether you're facing emotional pain, relationship struggles, or navigating life through or after a serious illness, my goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, seen, heard and supported.
I bring with me valuable experience from my time working within the NHS, specifically in the cancer care sector. During this time, I had the privilege of working closely with individuals and families affected by cancer—those newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, in recovery, or living with the long-term impacts of the illness. This has given me a deep understanding of the emotional complexities that accompany serious health challenges, and it’s an area I remain particularly passionate about.
Being specialised in counselling within cancer care, I’m here to walk with you through the fear, grief, uncertainty, and adjustment that often come with a diagnosis, whether you’re the patient or a loved one.
At some point in life, many of us experience challenges that feel overwhelming, confusing, or deeply painful. Reaching out for support is a courageous and healthy step toward healing and personal growth.
I will support you to make better sense of your experiences, together with your thoughts and emotions and explore options. I will help you to uncover meanings and recognise patterns, providing you with greater self-awareness.
Counselling offers a safe and non-judgmental space to explore what’s going on, gain clarity, and discover new ways of coping. People come to therapy for many different reasons, and no problem is too big or too small. Whether you're facing a personal crisis, navigating life transitions, or simply seeking greater self-understanding, you're not alone.
My first session
In our first session, the focus will be on getting to know each other. I’ll take the time to understand what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. We’ll also go through the therapeutic contract and discuss how we’ll work together moving forward.
The following sessions are more flexible. You’re welcome to bring whatever is on your mind - this might be something ongoing or something new each week. I’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Think of yourself as the captain of the ship - we’ll go as fast or as gently as you need.
Every few weeks, after a few weeks we will take time to review your progress, reflect on how therapy is going for you, and check in on the goals you’ve set.
