About me and my therapy practice

I appreciate difficult times can be a lonely anxious place, sometimes not even knowing what's wrong. Looking for support is an important first step - to begin with I'll provide some understanding and be a safe person to confide in.

I'll provide a calm, confidential space where you can explore anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, neuro-diversity, a feeling of being stuck, any issues that are getting in your way - without judgment.

Starting therapy takes courage, and it's okay to feel uncertain. You don't have to have everything figured out - just a sense that something needs to change.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, we’ll go at your pace, in a way that feels supportive and meaningful to you. This could involve gently exploring your past, focusing on the present, or finding ways to manage difficult emotions day-to-day.

Through compassionate and insightful conversation, we'll build a kinder relationship with yourself, develop practical coping strategies, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and authentic.

I'll be with you to encourage self compassion and acceptance that leads to healing and growth.

I offer a free initial conversation where we can talk openly without any pressure - this can be booked through my website too: https://www.selfacceptance.co.uk/contact

Practice description

I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ, which means I work in line with their ethical framework — putting your wellbeing at the heart of the process.

My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. As a person-centred therapist, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, with empathy and respect.

I’ve worked with adults and young people across a range of settings, including colleges, charities and community services; supporting clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-worth, grief, addictions, and neuro-diversity.

I have also previously worked in schools with children with special needs.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am always happy to answer any questions about how we’d work together or what to expect from therapy.

My first session

Our initial meeting is a relaxed conversation about what's brought you here and what you'd like to explore.

Share as much or as little as feels comfortable. We'll discuss your hopes for therapy with no pressure or expectations - just a supportive space to help you decide if this feels right.
