About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Aisha, a person-centred counsellor based in Baldock, Hertfordshire, offering therapy in person, online and by phone. I believe in the power of being truly heard. and understood in a space where you don't need to mask how you feel or fit a script.
Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious or stuck?
Life can feel heavy when you鈥檙e navigating anxiety, grief low self esteem or simply feeling lost without knowing why. You may be lying in bed at night, unable to make sense of what is going on inside, wondering why you feel powerless or as if you are running on autopilot.
Expressing this to others can be difficult, especially when you don't yet fully understand it. You might tell yourself you 鈥淚 shouldn鈥檛 feel this way鈥 or worry what others might think.
I offer a calm, neuro-affirming and non-judgemental space where you can explore and make sense of your feelings at a pace that feels safe.
Together we can work to:
-Understand and process difficult emotions
-Gain clarity and insight into your thoughts and experiences
-Build confidence and self-belief
-Reduce overwhelm and anxiety
-Develop emotional regulation and self acceptance
-Gain a sense of empowerment and control
My counselling style is warm, gentle and collaborative. I believe you are the expert of your own life and experiences. I walk alongside you adapting my needs, communication style and processing pace to meet your needs.
Together we can explore your experiences, self beliefs and emotions. Together we can uncover the confidence and strength that already exists within you.

My first session
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session. This is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to get a sense of one another.
Many people feel nervous before meeting 鈥 that鈥檚 completely normal. You don鈥檛 need to prepare anything or know exactly what to say. My role is to help you feel comfortable enough to begin sharing what has brought you to counselling, and to see if working with me is right for you.
We鈥檒l start by talking a little about what has led you here and what you would like to gain from therapy. You might simply want a space to offload, or you may have particular goals in mind such as understanding your emotions, managing anxiety, or building confidence. Together we鈥檒l gently explore what you need from me and how I can best support you.
I鈥檒l explain how counselling works, including confidentiality, boundaries, and session structure. This ensures that you know what to expect and that our work feels safe and transparent. You are welcome to ask questions at any point.
My counselling style is gentle and collaborative. I adapt my approach to meet your communication style and pace, especially if you process information differently or prefer extra time to reflect. There is no pressure to share anything before you鈥檙e ready.
By the end of the session, many people describe feeling a little lighter or clearer about what they want from therapy. It鈥檚 also a chance for you to decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.
