About me and my therapy practice
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy that helps you understand how your past experiences and unconscious thoughts and feelings affect your current behavior and relationships. By exploring your inner world and gaining insights into your patterns, you can work through challenges and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
A key aspect of psychodynamic therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. This relationship provides a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I will help you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your motivations, and to work through any issues that may be holding you back.
Practice description
As a psychotherapist with a background of working in the corporate environment, I offer a unique blend of clinical skills coupled with real-world experience. Having spent a number of years working in Executive Recruitment, Financial Technology, Financial Services, and Law, I understand the pressures and demands of the corporate world and the unique challenges it poses.
My clinical background includes working with a diverse range of individuals, on both a time-limited and an open-ended basis, addressing concerns such as OCD, anxiety, and depression. I also have specific experience providing therapeutic support to bereaved individuals within a hospice environment.
My aim is to help you gain deeper insight, self-awareness and emotional well-being by uncovering the root cause of the emotional challenges that may be having a negative impact on your life. Whether you are seeking support for work-related stress, relationship issues or general personal development, I offer a confidential and empathetic space for us to explore and think about those past experiences and underlying conflicts which may be impacting you today.
My first session
Starting therapy is a significant step, and finding the right therapist is key. Our first six sessions are designed as a collaborative discovery phase. This time is for us to get to know each other. I'll learn about what's bringing you to therapy and what you hope to achieve, and you'll get a feel for how I work and whether our dynamic feels right for you.
Around our sixth session, we'll discuss if you feel this approach is a good fit and whether you'd like to continue our work on a longer-term basis. There's absolutely no pressure to continue if it doesn't feel right for you.
