About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome, I’m Emma - a humanistic counsellor and ecotherapy facilitator.
Whatever brings you here - overwhelm, loss, anxiety, or something harder to name - it matters. Reaching out can feel like a big step, but it’s often the beginning of something meaningful.
I offer a space that is grounded in warmth, compassion and support. A space where you can feel seen and heard without judgment and where you can explore what’s going on for you - at your pace.
I work with adults navigating a wide range of life experiences, including grief, anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, relationship challenges, neurodiversity and self-worth. Therapy with me is a collaboration between us and my approach is humanistic, tailored to you as a whole person.
I offer flexibility in how we meet: in-person, online, or through walk & talk and nature-based therapy. I understand that healing doesn’t always happen indoors or while sitting still - sometimes movement and the natural world help us access what’s been hard to reach.
I offer both long- and short-term therapy however we would initially agree to work together for 7 consecutive sessions.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ) and follow their ethical framework, focused on care, respect, safety, and confidentiality. I am insured, receive professional supervision in line with Íø±¬ÃÅ requirements and maintain regular CPD.
You're welcome to reach out for a free, no-obligation introductory call and see if working together feels like the right fit. And if we are, I’m here and ready to support you.
Practice description
At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship and I believe the quality of it is one of the most important aspects of effective therapy.
We will co-create a safe space that allows you to freely share what is important to you and I'll support you to explore what has and hasn't been said. I will help you reconnect with your authentic self and find your own answers, rather than giving you advice or quick fixes.
I use a humanistic approach and draw on others as needed. I also offer invitations including creativity and practical tools that can allow for new perspectives and a deeper understanding.
And if you'd like to explore nature-based approaches & invitations, we can discuss this together.
My first session
After initial contact, we will confirm an appointment time and place as soon as possible and I'll send you an agreement, which sets out how we'll work together.
The first session is a chance for us to meet and get to know each other, and explore what you are struggling with and what you'd like to get out of the sessions.
By the end of our first session, we’ll have a sense of whether we’d like to continue working together and if so, we'll agree on further sessions. However, there's no obligation to continue.
