About me and my therapy practice
Life can often feel overwhelming with little time for ourselves so I am here as a listening ear offering calm, warmth and kindness. I work in a person-centered, pluralistic way and am non-judgmental, accepting so that trust between can develop. We can explore what's on your mind, are you struggling with persistent anxiety or feelings of shame, guilt or grief/loss? you may feel concern for the future of our planet. We can discuss whatever is on your mind causing you to feel unsettled, just come along as you are.
I believe self-compassion is vital and I will support you to reach any goals effectively using various therapies.
I am here to help you work through worries or issues you feel are affecting your daily wellbeing. To listen and support you whilst we explore what brings you to therapy now, at your pace.
Having therapy can feel like a big step, you may feel there is still some stigma around mental health and therapy. We can talk about overwhelm, past trauma and current or future worries.
Talking and exploring your life and relationships can be effective as it helps clear mixed up thoughts to feel lighter and more able to navigate the future.
I have over 10 years experience working in mental health and wellbeing in schools, including as a MH First Aider with MHFA England. The roles included extensive safeguarding training also within a Priory Group SEN school (students with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other neurodiverse behaviours) for older teens/young adults in a small residential setting.
Practice description
Therapy often brings up buried deep emotions and upsetting memories. We may discover repeating patterns of behaviour, we can explore these and process together.
I hold a current DBS, have regular supervisions, complete CPD and follow the Íø±¬ÃÅ/NCPS code of ethics.
I offer respect, genuine connection. I believe all humans are unique and should be treated equally, any toxicity really needs exploring. Having a neutral person to navigate difficult times can help. It’s so important to find the right therapist so do contact me to book the free 15 minute chat even if you are unsure, it could be a worthwhile first step.
I offer sessions by phone or video link as well as outdoor walk & talk sessions as I believe nature /fresh air is calming and so good for our wellbeing. I can also offer longer sessions of 1.5hours if you so wish, in various locations.
My first session
During the first session we will discuss any previous therapy and what worked well or did not work well for you. We will cover important contracting information and we will have time to discuss what’s on your mind and how you feel therapy may help you now.
We will discuss how often you would like sessions and at the end of the first session, we will discuss a plan moving forward.
