About me and my therapy practice

I'm Lisa and am here to help you work through worries or issues you feel are affecting your daily wellbeing. To listen and support you whilst we explore what brings you to therapy now; completely at your pace, I am led by you.

Having therapy can feel like a big step, you may feel there is still some stigma around mental health and therapy. I feel self compassion is vital. We can talk about overwhelm, past trauma and current or future worries.

You may feel off balance, not yourself or just overwhelmed with life; stuck, unsure how to move forward.  Talking and exploring your life and relationships can be effective as it helps clear mixed up thoughts to feel lighter and more able to navigate the future.

Therapy often brings up buried deep emotions and memories.  We may discover current and repeating patterns of behaviour which we can then explore and process together.

Practice description

I focus on being person-centered whilst working in a pluralistic way. This means that I am non-judgmental and accepting, supporting you to reach any goals you may have, effectively using relevant therapies.

I also offer walk & talk as I find nature calming, it is so good for our mental health.  I can also offer longer sessions of 1.5hours (at extra cost) if you so wish, in various locations.

I have over 10 years experience working in mental health and wellbeing in schools, including as a MH First Aider with MHFA England. The roles included extensive safeguarding training also within a Priory Group SEN school (students with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other neurodiverse behaviours) for older teens/young adults in a small residential setting.

I hold a current DBS, have regular supervisions and complete ongoing and varied CPD.  I follow the Íø±¬ÃÅ code of ethics.

I offer warmth, genuine connection and kindness. I believe that all humans are equal and deserve respect.  It is unhealthy to remain in toxic environments or relationships so I can support anyone who feels they may be struggling with any toxicity in their life.

Having a neutral person to navigate through difficult times can be so helpful, this is my aim.  It’s so important that you find the right therapist, do contact me to book a free 15 minute chat even if you are undecided, it could be a worthwhile and helpful first step.
