About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, offering a warm, compassionate and non‑judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, listening deeply, understanding your unique experience and supporting you to find your way forward.
My approach is rooted in the humanistic philosophy that each of us has an innate capacity for growth and change when offered the right conditions, empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness. I work relationally, valuing the trust and connection we build together as a foundation for healing.
I offer counselling for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self‑worth, relationship difficulties, bereavement and the impact of past trauma. I have a particular interest in working with clients who feel unseen, unheard or disconnected from themselves, and I welcome those navigating life transitions, loss or questions of identity and meaning.
Sessions are led by your needs rather than a set agenda, allowing you to bring whatever feels most important in the moment. I may incorporate gentle creative methods if you find them helpful, but there is never any pressure; your pace and comfort always come first.
I offer in‑person sessions from my private practice in Salisbury, Walk and Talk, and online counselling for clients across the UK. Whether you are seeking short‑term support or a longer‑term therapeutic relationship, I aim to provide a safe space where you feel respected, understood and empowered to move towards greater self‑awareness and well‑being.
Practice description
My practice is grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity for growth, healing and change when offered the right conditions. I offer a confidential, non‑judgemental space where you can feel safe to share whatever is on your mind, knowing you will be heard, respected and understood.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I work alongside you rather than directing or diagnosing. Our sessions are guided by your needs and what feels important to you in the moment. I focus on building a trusting relationship, offering empathy, understanding and genuineness so that you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement.
The infinity symbol is an important part of my practice, for me it represents flow, possibility and interconnectedness without enmeshment. I see the therapeutic relationship in the same way: two distinct individuals connected in a meaningful way, yet each with their autonomy and freedom to grow.
You can expect sessions that move at your pace, with space to pause, reflect and explore. Some clients come with specific issues, while others wish to make sense of their feelings or reconnect with themselves. I also work with those navigating life transitions, loss, relational difficulties, or a sense of feeling stuck.
If you wish, we can work creatively, drawing on gentle techniques such as imagery, objects or art to support expression, but there is never any pressure; the choice is always yours.
I work with adults in in‑person sessions from my practice in Salisbury, and I also offer online counselling across the UK. Sessions last 50 minutes and can be arranged weekly, fortnightly or at a pace that suits you. Whether you seek short‑term support or a longer‑term therapeutic relationship, you can expect an approach rooted in respect, empathy and your unique journey.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and get a sense of how we might work together. It is not a commitment to ongoing therapy, instead, it’s a space for you to share what brings you to counselling, ask any questions, and see if you feel comfortable with me and my way of working.
I offer a free 15‑minute telephone or online consultation before booking a first session, so you can get a feel for whether I am the right counsellor for you. This can help take away some of the uncertainty that often comes with starting therapy.
During our first full session, I will explain how I work and go through our counselling agreement, which covers confidentiality, boundaries, fees and cancellation policy. I do not carry out formal assessments or diagnostic questionnaires; instead, I invite you to talk about what is important to you in your own words. We will explore what you hope to gain from counselling and agree on how we might approach our work together.
My first session rate is the same as ongoing sessions: £50 for a 50‑minute session. Concessions may be available for students, those on a low income, or individuals in financial difficulty. Please feel free to ask if this applies to you.
If at the end of the first session you decide you would like to continue, we can book further appointments at a pace that suits you. If you feel I am not the right fit, I will be happy to recommend other counsellors or services that may better meet your needs.
