About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm a Person Centred Experiential Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (PCE-CfD) based in Lincolnshire. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental, and confidential space where you can explore the challenges you’re facing and the emotions you’re experiencing. My aim is to provide a trusting environment where you feel safe to talk openly about what matters to you, what’s worrying you and the experiences that have shaped your life.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 25 years in education working with young people helping them to explore and express themselves.
This experience inspired me to train as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at the Metanoia Institute alongside working for Everyturn Mental Health Service. I offer a safe, compassionate space for you to explore your emotions and experiences, and to support you in deepening your connection to yourself and the world around you.
Practice description
My approach is grounded in Person Centred principles, recognising that you are the expert on yourself. I also value the vital connection between body and mind, which I believe can help ground us and support a fuller understanding of ourselves.
As a trained Person-Centred (PCE-CfD) counsellor for depression, I offer a supportive and confidential space where you can explore your experiences. I work with individual clients both in person and on-line.
Together we can explore challenges such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, life-changing events or past trauma in a space held with compassion, curiosity and kindness.
I offer a non-judgmental space to support you in feeling heard and understood, and to help you build a greater sense of wellbeing and empowerment in your life.
My first session
Our first session, you have the space to share what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We can talk through any questions you might have, this is simply an opportunity for you to decide if this feels like the right step for you, and if you feel we are the right fit to work together.
Future sessions, we’ll work together to make sense of your emotions and experiences, relationships, patterns of thinking or behaviour, and the barriers in your life – both those you’re aware of and those that may be less conscious. Many difficulties have a history and are shaped over time. By exploring the past experiences that have influenced you, we can understand how they affect your present and begin to make sense of challenges that may feel distressing.
This process can help support you in healing from the past, developing healthier coping strategies, and moving towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life – in a way that feels right for you.
