About me and my therapy practice
I’m a qualified Humanistic counsellor working in Tring, Leighton Buzzard, and online. I help adults untangle their emotions, understand their patterns, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, grounded, and fulfilling.
How Can I Help
Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions you can’t name, like you’re carrying something heavy but don’t know how to put it into words?
Do you find yourself reacting in ways you don’t understand, snapping when you don’t mean to, avoiding situations, or people-pleasing even when it leaves you drained?
Do you feel stuck in the same patterns, knowing they’re not helping you anymore, but unsure how to change them?
Real change starts with awareness, noticing what’s happening for us, how we're reacting, and why. Once we can see your patterns clearly, we can move toward acceptance, acknowledging what’s true right now without judgment.
From there, we can step into autonomy, the freedom to choose whether to keep following old behaviours or try something new.
Finally, the focus is on empowerment, building the confidence, resources and skills to make those new choices stick.
In practice, this might mean I reflect what you’ve told me so you can hear it in a new way, ask questions to clarify your thoughts, or offer a different perspective for you to consider. Sometimes we might work through compassion exercises, thought experiments, or mindfulness tools like breathing and grounding techniques, whatever helps you feel supported and resourced.
Why Work With Me?
I know how isolating it can feel when you’re confused about your emotions and unsure how to move forward. I’ve been there myself. I also know how powerful it is to have someone in your corner who sees you without filters, understands you without judgment, and helps you find your own answers.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. The first step can feel daunting, but it could be the start of something life-changing.
Practice description
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a variety of roles, from watersports instructor and bar supervisor to operations manager for a small online business. But from a young age, I had a desire to support others. In 2020, taking advantage of some time on furlough, I took a leap and enrolled in an introductory counselling course at a local college.
A little less than 5 years of training later, I graduated from the Metanoia Institute with a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling.
During my training, I had the privilege of volunteering at charity counselling services. I worked in both long and short-term therapy, helping people with a range of needs. From working with young adults, transitioning from school to college, or college to the working world, to working with survivors of sexual abuse and assault, these experiences that shaped the therapist I am today.
I have had additional training in:
Trauma Informed Therapy
Working with Shame in Therapy
