About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor who works creatively with both adults and children. My approach draws from a range of therapeutic models, allowing me to tailor sessions to the unique needs of each individual. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, supported, and safe.
My private practice is based in a dedicated counselling room within my home. It has its own separate entrance and is designed to be a calm, welcoming environment. The space allows for creative ways of working, such as art, play, and other expressive techniques, which can be particularly helpful for younger clients or those who find it difficult to express themselves through words alone.
I believe in a holistic approach that honours both the mind and body. This means working at a pace that feels right for you, and exploring not only thoughts and emotions but also how they are held in the body.
My background includes extensive experience working with the Samaritans, where I held multiple roles, and I have supported young people through The Prince’s Trust and in schools as a member of the learning support team. I have a level 4 in learning support and a top-up degree in Managing children and young people and mental health, alongside my Foundation degree in integrative counselling.
I also work for the railway, where I was part of the incident care team and became a leader for many years, I was trained in delivering humanitarian support to those involved in incidents within the railway setting and was a coach for many years, delivering safety information to members of staff and assessing them on their roles. I believe counselling and coaching can work well together.
Whether you're navigating a recent loss, dealing with anxiety or low mood, or looking to understand yourself better, I aim to provide a therapeutic relationship that supports healing, growth, and greater self-awareness.
Practice description
I draw from a range of therapeutic models to adapt to each individual’s needs, and my work is grounded in compassion, creativity, and respect.
My counselling space is a safe, dedicated room within my home, with its own private entrance. It’s designed to be a calm, welcoming environment where clients can feel at ease. The room is equipped for creative ways of working—using art, play, or other expressive tools—as well as traditional talk therapy.
I believe in a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising the deep connection between mind and body. Whether working with grief, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions, I aim to support the whole person, not just the problem.
My ongoing learning and development include CBT, DBT, bereavement and loss, somatic therapy, Gestalt, PTSD, Shadow work, Neurodiverse, VR therapy and Child development.
I hold a level 2 in safeguarding children and young people, DBS checked for adults and children and hold indemnity insurance.
I have a particular interest and expertise in working with bereavement, traumatic loss, complex grief, anxiety, suicide and self-harm.
My first session
My first session will be at a reduced rate of £30 and will last 50 minutes.
It will be a space where we can meet each other and see if I am the right fit for you. All counsellors work differently, and I will only want the best for you, so it will be a chance for you to make an informed decision of what works best for you. It's your healing journey and it's important you feel comfortable.
