About me and my therapy practice
I’m Mila, a qualified pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist, who can either provide sessions in English or Polish languages.
In my practice, I employ a diverse range of approaches to assist you in overcoming your challenges.
The counselling approach chosen will be tailored to your individual needs and preferences, as ‘everyone requires different things at different stages of therapy.
I will collaborate with you to understand what matters to you most. We will look together at what your values and beliefs are and what changes you would like to make.
Together we will agree on achievable goals for therapy and explore ways of improving your well-being.
As you are the expert in your own life, I will listen to your feedback and ensure that all decisions around a choice of therapy and interventions used are shared and best suited to your personal circumstances.
I will also offer you my commitment, knowledge, and lifelong experience.
Most importantly, I will create a safe and confidential environment where you are listened to and heard fully, leaving you feeling at ease and able to explore your issues freely without fear of judgment.
Practice description
As a pluralistic therapist, I can incorporate a collection of methods and interventions to provide tailored therapy, from my acquired toolkit, into our collaborative work.
This way of working may be useful to you, as by the end of therapy, you will feel confident and well-prepared to take proactive steps forward on your own.
Through learning techniques, such as, for example: cognitive restructuring, behavioural activation, scheduling, prioritising, behavioural experiments, gradual exposure, emotional regulation techniques, mindfulness practices, effective communication skills, and many more, you will develop your skills set to feel calm and in control of your own life, therefore becoming your own - future therapist!
Sessions are delivered online via Google Meet or In-Person at one of the following venues:
Callendar House in Falkirk
Balallan House in Stirling.
My first session
During your free online counselling introduction, I will carry out an intake assessment. This initial conversation helps me understand your background, current challenges, and therapy goals.
Please feel free to ask questions and express any concerns you may have during this time.
Please ensure that during these sessions, you are in a private and confidential space where you can explore your difficulties safely, I would recommend using headphones if possible.
If we experience unexpected technical issues with the internet on either side. We can continue the session over the phone or re-arrange, depending on your preference.
