About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Stephanie, and I'm here to support you on your
journey toward greater wellbeing and self-understanding.
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ). Since 2008, I've had the privilege of walking alongside adults through their therapeutic journeys, helping them navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strengths.
As someone who is neurodivergent, I bring a lived
understanding of the daily challenges that come with thinking and experiencing
the world differently. This personal insight, combined with my professional
training, allows me to offer particularly compassionate and informed support to
neurodivergent clients, though I welcome all adults seeking therapeutic
support.
Throughout my career, I've also held leadership positions
where I've supported diverse groups of people in their personal and
professional growth. Additionally, I hold a Certificate in Pastoral
Supervision, which enables me to support people in often-lonely leadership
roles - such as clergy, headteachers, and other professionals who carry
significant responsibility for others' wellbeing. This work has deepened my
understanding of leadership challenges and the unique pressures that come with
caring for others professionally.
My practice is built on the belief that everyone has the
capacity for growth and healing. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental
space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely, gain new
perspectives, and develop the tools you need to thrive.
I look forward to the possibility of working together and
supporting you on your path forward.
Practice description
Sessions are 50 minutes long, ideally at the same time each week. However, we can be flexible as life happens!
My approach is truly integrative – I draw from psychodynamic, humanistic, and CBT therapeutic modalities to create a personalized experience that best serves your unique needs. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with you to find the therapeutic style that resonates most deeply and creates the most meaningful change.
This means we may delve into past relationships and patterns, feelings, focus on the here-and-now or work on how thoughts impact feelings and behaviour, scheduling or goal-setting. Or all of the above.
I am also a breathwork coach so, if appropriate, I can teach breathwork practices to support wellbeing.
My first session
Our first session together will include some 'housekeeping' time. We'll go through the New Client Form that you have already completed and returned to me. I will check that you are happy with the contract (way of working which outlines the practical way we work together) and answer any questions you may have. This aspect of our work provides a safe bedrock for the work we'll be doing.
