About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome! I know starting therapy can feel like a big (and sometimes intimidating) step. Whether you're facing stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, or just feeling lost, you don’t have to go through it alone.

I’m a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, with experience of working with adults and adolescents in navigating life’s challenges. I’m easy to speak with, open-minded, and flexible with the way I structure my sessions.

I come from a multicultural background as a German-Pakistani, and having lived in several countries throughout my life, I understand what it’s like to feel out of place or misunderstood. While everyone’s experience is unique, my personal journey and professional training have taught me the importance of creating a space where clients feel truly welcome and accepted just as they are. Cultural sensitivity is something I prioritise in the counselling room, and I want you to feel like you can be your full self without fear of judgment.

With over four years of experience across counselling and community support roles, I bring a grounded, real-world perspective into the therapy space. I’m trained in trauma-informed support, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Crisis Prevention. I hold qualifications in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and I’m also a Graduate Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).

I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, trauma-informed and CBT (cognitive behavioural) principles, depending on what feels right for you.

Practice description

I offer a compassionate, confidential space where we can work through what’s troubling you at your pace. I support clients of all ages and backgrounds with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship or family issues, disordered eating, and more.

I primarily offer online sessions, but if you're based in Dublin, we can also explore in-person options.

In the first few sessions, we would discuss what has brought you here as well as a bit about your background. We would also be speaking about outcomes and goals that you’re hoping to achieve through counselling. That said, therapy isn’t just about goals. Sometimes, the safety and consistency of a strong therapeutic relationship can be healing in itself.

My first session

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask some questions to understand your background and what’s brought you to therapy, though it’s equally important that you get a feel for how I work and whether I’m the right fit for you.

I take a collaborative approach and welcome any questions you may have. We’ll also go through a counselling contract together, which covers details such as session structure, confidentiality, and my qualifications. Sessions are 50 minutes long.

You also have the option of a free 10-minute consultation call before our first session, to answer any questions you may have about therapy or to get a sense of how we could begin working together.
