About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Hattie. I know how overwhelming it can feel to find the right therapist when there are so many doing such meaningful work. That’s why I like to keep what I offer simple, clear, and focused on what you truly need.
If you're experiencing anxiety, feeling low, depressed, or not yourself in some way I can help you to bring clarity and calmness to your life. I've been where you are (and still find myself there sometimes) and know that when life gets too much it can feel impossible to see a way out. I like to meet you where you're at, and support and challenge you to explore your feelings, thoughts, and desires for the future.
I work in the person-centred modality, but also adjust to your unique needs.
Finally, I believe that the connection between client and counsellor is key to meaningful therapy. To help us see if we’re a good match, I offer a free 20‑minute introductory call.
Practice description
I am currently offering online and telephone counselling which can be really handy for anyone with a busy schedule or who travel for work. All I ask is that you join the session from a space that is private, confidential, and where you feel comfortable speaking freely.
My sessions are client-led - you are the expert of yourself. My role is to nurture, support, truly listen and challenge when appropriate. Clients find it hugely beneficial to have a space to share feelings they may be unable to express with loved ones, or share thoughts that feel too scary or overwhelming to process outside of the counselling space.
I have a particular interest in perinatal and postnatal mental health, as well as supporting new parents generally. However, I have extensive experience in supporting clients with:
Anxiety, depression & burnout
Body image and self-esteem
Relationship & family challenges
Motherhood, fertility & postpartum support
Trauma, grief, and life transitions
Boundaries, people-pleasing, and emotional overwhelm

My first session
After our free introductory call where we'll decide whether to work together, our first session will cover an assessment.
This will involve me taking you through a series of questions, such as personal and contact details, as well as exploring more deeply your previous experience of therapy, what's brought you to therapy now and what you look to get out of it.
The purpose of this first session is to establish your needs and whether I'm the right therapist to assist you.
