About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and welcome.
I鈥檓 an integrative counsellor offering a warm, relational space for people who are looking for support with a wide range of life experiences 鈥 including anxiety, depression, bereavement, major life changes, parenting, the cancer journey, and more.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that talking isn鈥檛 just talking 鈥 it鈥檚 a powerful process of looking through our thoughts, experiences, and beliefs. Through this, we begin to accept ourselves as we are, and from that place, real and lasting change becomes possible.
I draw on person-centred therapy, transactional analysis and gestalt approaches to tailor our work to your unique needs. Whether you're navigating a current difficulty or looking to understand yourself more deeply, we鈥檒l work together at your pace, with curiosity, care, and honesty.
My practice is rooted in radical acceptance and inclusion. I have a particular interest in neurodivergence, food and body image, and I consider my work to be aligned with Health At Every Size (HAES) principles. My therapy room is designed to be size-inclusive and welcoming to all bodies, identities and beliefs.
I work both online and in person from my home therapy room in Beyton, near Bury St Edmunds. I currently have availability for online or in-person sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays (daytime), and online sessions on Tuesday evenings.
To borrow from Carl Rogers鈥 paradoxical theory of change: 鈥淕enuine change occurs not by striving to be someone you're not, but by fully accepting and embracing who you are in the present moment.鈥 This is the ethos I hold in our work together.
If you feel drawn to explore working with me, I鈥檇 love to hear from you.
Practice description
Working with me means stepping into a space where you are truly listened to 鈥 without judgement or expectation. My training is in humanistic styles of counselling, which for you as the client means that I am lead by you, at your pace and focusing on the issues you bring to our sessions.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I aim to create a relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore whatever鈥檚 on your mind, at your own pace. I believe that the relationship we build is at the heart of our work together, so we will build up that safety and trust together.
Whether you come with something specific 鈥 like anxiety, grief, or a life change 鈥 or a more general sense of feeling stuck or overwhelmed, we will work together to make sense of what鈥檚 going on beneath the surface.
I won鈥檛 offer quick fixes or advice 鈥 instead, I鈥檒l help you uncover your own insight and strength, through a process of deep listening, gentle challenge, and honest reflection.
I offer both in-person therapy (from my calm and inclusive home therapy room in Beyton, near Bury St Edmunds) and online sessions.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute phone or video call so we can get to know each other a little and see whether working together feels like the right fit. This is a chance for you to ask any questions, share what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of how I work 鈥 with no pressure to commit.
If you鈥檇 prefer, you鈥檙e also very welcome to contact me by email with any questions before deciding whether to book a session.
