About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Jill, I'm a therapeutic coach and integrative counsellor with a real passion for working with other neurodivergent people.

Life can feel pretty overwhelming, and when you feel as if you want the world to stop for a while, that can be a good moment to spend some time offloading the things that are weighing you down; taking stock of where you are; and re-building life so it feels like a better fit for you. This is where I can help.

We can work directly with the experience of being neurodivergent or with this as a background to other issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, or relationship difficulties.

We’ll work together in a holistic way that takes your whole self and situation into consideration. I describe my approach as 'integrative' which means I am trained in a wide range of approaches so we can create exactly the right blend of techniques to match your needs. I like to work, in particular, with psychodynamic techniques and in ways that are informed by Internal Family Systems, and somatic work, and I'm always reading and learning to deepen my skills and knowledge.

Being qualified as a coach and therapist means that we can work with issues from the past or present as well as giving you the tools to build a future that is right for you. I can help you learn to manage your energy and emotions to avoid or recover from burnout.

When we first meet, we'll explore what's brought you here and what you hope to achieve, in order to begin to put together an idea of which approaches might work best for you.

Therapy is a collaborative process, I'm not here with answers or advice but I'd love to work alongside you as you set out on your own journey.

Practice description

I work exclusively online which I find works really well because I can work with clients in any geographical location. It also means that you can be comfortable in whichever environment suits you best for our sessions - a number of my clients have their pets for comfort as we talk!

I'm always keen to be as flexible as possible with moving and timing sessions as I think this works best for neurodivergent people in particular, as well as fitting around the busy lives we all lead. My personal style is warm and quite informal so people feel at ease quickly, I never want clients to worry about anything such as asking questions or rearranging sessions.

My first session

Before engaging in work together I have a no-obligation introductory Zoom call which may last anywhere up to 30 mins to check that we're the right fit for each other.

Prior to our first session I will send out an intake form with some basic background questions and a contract/working agreement that we can talk through in our first session.
