About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I am Teija. I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, with a background in working with both adults and teenagers with many different psychological issues that are getting on the way of everyday life.
Your past experiences can have a significant impact on how you feel and behave today. The way you respond to life's problems can result to stress, anxiety and depression and spiral into exhaustion, illness and fears, sapping your energy and joy of living. Making you unable to meet your true potential. With the help of counselling you can begin to resolve issues regardless of how long or short time you've had them.
I do believe that a key to helping my clients lead better balanced lives a is to provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment where we can explore anxieties, fears, inner conflicts, and anything that is preventing my clients to develop their full potential, in a safe and relaxed way.
I have an integrated counselling approach, which means that I will draw from various psychological approaches such as person centred, psychodynamic, gestalt, transactional analysis, solution focused and transpersonal approaches and therefore can tailor my approach to suit you and support vast range of emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, guilt, shame and fears, impact of traumatic experiences, panic attacks, fears and phobias, OCD and eating disorders in your life, and many unwanted habits and addictions.
Practice description
I offer Individual, short or long-term sessions either on zoom or in person. Sessions last typically 50 minutes on weekly basis.
We will have a short introductory call prior to the first session to ensure counselling with me is the right fit for you. We can agree to work on number of sessions (minimum of 6) or in an open-ended manner for longer work.
For zoom sessions you will require access to internet and a computer or a phone with a camera as we need to able to see each other. I will provide a link to zoom for you to attend. Please ensure you are in a place we you cannot be overheard and if you have access to headphones, that would be great.
My first session
When you make an appointment, I will arrange a short call with you for approx. 15 minutes for a brief discussion to ensure that the sessions with me are a right fit for you.
In the first meeting we will discuss your goals and expectations from therapy with me and agree on the timeframe.
