About me and my therapy practice

My name is Lottie Reid and I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and registered Íø±¬ÃÅ member, with experience in NHS and voluntary sector placements.  Beginning therapy can feel scary. The process of gaining more awareness of what troubles you can, at times, be difficult.

I believe that one of the main factors that will support you in your brave journey is our relationship. I will aim to create a warm, supportive space and provide a genuine, non-judgmental and empathic relationship that enables your therapeutic journey.

My work is founded on a belief in each person's capacity to find their own pathway out of distress. I position myself as an ally, working alongside you, supporting you towards growth and change.

By exploring where you feel stuck, we can gain insight into the stories, relationships, and beliefs shaping your world. Our collaborative journey centres around compassionate awareness - gently investigating the past to understand its fingerprints on the present, while honouring your autonomy to walk your own path forward. I offer a space to question and reclaim a sense and understanding of yourself.

Practice description

I have a private practice in SW London and can offer in-person availability in the Putney, Barnes and Sheen areas, or I offer online therapy.

I use a blend of three therapeutic approaches (Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt) which I weave together into my Humanistic practice.

Key components of this approach are:

- Viewing the client as the expert in their own experience, taking a client-led approach to honour each person’s capacity to find the answers best suited to them

- Commitment to providing a non-judgmental, genuine and empathic space

- A belief that supporting clients to find greater awareness will provide a clearer, more integrated sense of self, strengthen agency and broaden choice, within the limits and potentiality of a person’s contextual environment

- A holistic approach, viewing individuals as indivisible from, and impacted by, their environment.

- Viewing the therapeutic relationship as a space for clients to discover their patterns of relating and to try out new ways of being in a safe, supported environment

My first session

I want you to choose the right therapist for you. I offer a free 30-minute no obligation session either by phone or Zoom, where we can explore what you would like to work on and see if we might be a good fit.

We would agree an initial number of sessions, which would take place weekly at the same time and day, each lasting 50-minutes. At our first session we would complete an assessment together, reviewing what your focus is and what you are hoping you will gain from therapy.

Sessions are charged at £65 each, payable in advance. I do have some limited concession rate availability too subject to eligibility.
