About me and my therapy practice
My client-led approach focuses on building a strong, healing relationship, that helps you to navigate through your life transitions. As a qualified psychotherapist, I take an integrative, interpersonally orientated approach to mental health, that is interculturally sensitive. This forms the core of the therapeutic process, founded upon collaboration and commitment. We begin with an assessment, which will enable us to identify patterns in your past and present relationships. Then, using a dynamic, caring and compassionate approach to treatment we will work towards understanding your concerns in depth, before activating an insight-orientated pathway, designed to achieving life-long changes.
Practice description
I work with individual clients, as well as couples and families and also offer bespoke support to organisations seeking guidance for wellbeing in the workplace. My interventional methods include psychodynamic, family systems therapy, group therapy, coaching, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), sex therapy and couples therapy. I treat individuals, groups and couples experiencing a variety of life challenges, for example, parenting, infertility, anxiety, depression, divorce, panic disorders, trauma and work related stress.
I am also a women’s mental health specialist and guide women through various life stages, from adolescence, pre/post-natal, intimate relationships, work-life balance, psychosexual health, midlife and beyond. I collaborate with multi-disciplinary specialists like gynaecologists and GP's to provide a joined-up approach for every woman. My work and interest in psycho-nutrition enables me to guide my clients through their relationship with food, and concerns with weight management, body image, disordered eating, diabetes and related aspects of mental health.
I work as a Senior Lecturer at various universities and conduct research in women's mental health, which also informs my clinical practise. I am an advocate for women’s health inequalities, participating in various speaking engagements, wellbeing workshops and corporate conferences.
My first session
When you contact me, the starting point is a 30 minute, free (online) consultation so that you can tell me all about your issues and circumstances. Once I get a sense of what you are going through I can provide a therapeutic treatment plan that best meets your needs and guides you on the process.
If you feel that I am the right practitioner for you too, we will make an appointment for our first session and agree on a course of treatment. You will be sent a registration form and asked for your preferred payment method. Once these are completed, your appointment confirmation will be emailed to you.
