About me and my therapy practice

With over 20 years experience of working with people in the  community, mentoring, coaching and working in education, I have worked with a huge variety of people and circumstances to help people become the best version of themselves. I can work through person-centred therapy, or through a coaching and mentoring approach, whichever you feel may best suit you.

My aim is to provide a space where you, as the client, can truly be yourself and work through the difficulties and hang-ups that may be impacting upon your life. I take a down to earth, no-judgment approach to my work, accepting you as you are no matter what, making you the focus and working with you as you figure out your own path.

Over the years I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds; from grief and loss, hang-ups over sexuality, struggles with faith, as well as anxiety & depression and many more. My work has taken my into schools, colleges & universities, prisons and young offenders institutes, hospitals, family homes and youth clubs, as well as working abroad on charitable projects, working with people from a range of backgrounds.

Through my experience I have developed skills in working with young people, people of faith, neuro-diverse people, people with autism and ADHD, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, adoptive families and young people who are, or have been, in looked after care, as well as working with the parents of adoptive and foster families; inclusive of people from a range of religious backgrounds and different nationalities.

Practice description

As a person-centred therapist I aim to provide you with the space you need to take you on your journey towards the place you are meant to be in life - helping you to overcome the barriers and obstacles that may be in your way, aiding you to reach your potential.

With a coaching and mentoring approach, my aim is to walk alongside you to better develop yourself and to achieve your goals and personal aims, whilst maintaining a therapeutic approach to the work - although it is important to note that coaching / mentoring is not therapy.

My first session

I can offer a free phone consultation with any prospective client, lasting around 15 minutes.

In the first 'official' session together, we would spend 50 minutes agreeing the ways in which we work together, the expectations of each other and informally getting to know each other in a relaxed way.

I know that it can be daunting to meet a therapist for the first time and so my aim in the first session is to put you at ease as we begin to walk your path together. You will be under no obligation to discuss anything you do not want to and from here we can head in whatever direction feels right for you.
