About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps you're reading this because life is currently throwing some challenges your way. The difficulties that bring us to therapy are different for everyone, but maybe you're feeling stressed or are unable to stop your thoughts from racing, are struggling with sleep, or are finding that life is sadly lacking much joy.

Perhaps you feel somehow not quite like your ‘old self’ and you aren't entirely clear why. Talking through what is happening in your life with someone trained to listen (and who is not directly involved in the events you describe) can help at such times. Very possibly it’s your first step in finding a new way through.

Practice description

Working with me would involve us talking about whatever has you troubled and seeing what support would help. Some people come wanting to explore their present circumstances in detail, while for others it feels more important to revisit the past. For most of us, it'll be a combination of both, but together we'll figure out what's most useful for you.

It is no fun to feel that things have become unmanageable and I'm glad you're considering getting some help. Please send me a message to get started and we can set-up an introductory call (free of charge) to see how counselling may help. Till then, thanks and all the best.

My first session

There is no standardised way that the therapy develop, not least because we are all individuals with unique experiences and histories. The reasons that bring us into the counselling room also vary enormously. The most important tasks of the first session(s) is getting to know each other a little better and building the foundation for our work together. We'll likely also discuss the issues that bring you to therapy, look a little at what your expectations are of therapy, and understand more of your life and support system outside the therapy room, before agreeing whether it would be helpful to work together for future sessions.
