About me and my therapy practice
You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or like something’s just not sitting right — but you’re not sure what to do about it. That’s a really common place to begin. I offer a steady, quiet space where you can pause, reflect and start to make sense of what you’re feeling. Together, we can look at the things that feel hard to say out loud — even the bits you’re not sure how to explain yet.
I’m a Íø±¬ÃÅ-registered therapist with a background in both mental health research and frontline support. I work in a way that’s person‑centred and integrative, drawing on approaches like CBT and Focusing when they feel helpful. But at the heart of it, I believe therapy works when you feel safe, understood and not judged. That’s my aim — a space that’s calm, grounded and honest.
I’ve supported people through anxiety, grief, burnout, low self‑worth and relationship difficulties. Much of my work centres around identity, life transitions and the pressure of holding things together when you’re quietly unravelling underneath. I welcome LGBTQ+ clients and am committed to offering an affirming space — one where your identity is recognised, respected and held without assumption or the need to explain.
Some people come to therapy for a few sessions, others want something more open‑ended. I work both short and long term, online and in person, depending on what feels right for you. There’s no ‘right way’ to do therapy — just a willingness to show up and see what unfolds.
Practice description
I work from my therapy room at home in Liverpool — a quiet, comfortable space where people often say they feel able to breathe a bit easier. Sessions take place either in person (on what might be the world’s softest sofa) or online via video. You can choose whatever feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
Therapy with me isn’t about being analysed or fixed. It’s about being heard. I’ll listen carefully to what you’re saying — and also to what’s not being said. Sometimes we work with thoughts and patterns that keep coming up, sometimes with grief or loss that feels too big to carry alone. You don’t need to arrive with a clear plan. Just being here is enough of a beginning.
I often work with people who are used to getting on with things — who show up for others but struggle to offer that same care to themselves. I also support people who feel lost, stuck or disconnected from who they are. If that’s you, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
I work with clients from all backgrounds and aim to offer a space that feels welcoming, respectful and shaped by what matters most to you. Whoever you are, however you show up, you’ll be met with care and curiosity.
We can work together for a short time or over the longer term. What matters most is that it feels safe enough to explore whatever it is you’re carrying — at your pace, in your words.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not used to focusing on your own needs. So the first session is a gentle one. It’s a chance for us to meet, get a feel for each other and see what it’s like to share space together.
You don’t need to prepare anything or know what to say. We’ll talk a little about what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for and any questions you have. I’ll also go through things like confidentiality, session structure and what it might look like if we decide to work together. It’s okay if you’re unsure at this stage — we can take things slowly.
However you arrive — whether you’re ready to dive in or just testing the water — I’ll meet you with warmth, patience and care. There’s no pressure to be anything other than who you are.
