About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Ben a certified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MNCPS Accred.) I primarily work with issues related to difficult relationships, trauma, identity and Anxiety.
My approach is based on training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. I am a registered Psychothereapeutic Counsellor with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (NCPS) and the Brittish Asociation of Pschotherapy and Counselling (Íø±¬ÃÅ).
Therapy can be a valuable resource during difficult times, offering a supportive relationship where you can explore and work through the challenges you’re facing. It also provides an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how past experiences shape our personality, self-image, and relationship patterns.
I have expertise in supporting individuals through complex personal and interpersonal issues, and I work with a diverse range of relationships—including couples, those practicing polyamory, and individuals from LGBTQ+ and mixed-ethnic communities.
I offer a secure, non-judgmental environment where we can explore present challenges by understanding their roots and working together toward the outcomes you hope to achieve.
My practice provides a confidential space for adults (18+) seeking individual or relationship therapy, available both online and in person at my offices in central Brighton and Saltdean.
I offer Single-Session, Short-Term, and Long-Term therapy options.
• Individual therapy: Weekly sessions
• Couples and Group Relationship therapy: Typically recommended for 8–12 weekly sessions

Practice description
My Philosophy & Approach
My work is grounded in the principles of Transactional Analysis, which is based on three core beliefs:
1. People are OK
I am committed to offering you empathy, respect, and dignity—even during times when you may struggle to extend those to yourself.
2. People can think
Therapy is a collaborative process. Your thoughts and perspectives are welcomed and valued within our shared therapeutic space.
3. People can change
I view therapy as a process of growth and transformation. Even if you feel stuck, I believe in your potential to change and will support you in achieving the shifts you’re seeking.
I also believe therapy should meet you where you are. I work creatively and dynamically, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. Our work is co-created—we build a shared agreement that guides the direction and pace of your therapy.
Exploration
When life feels overwhelming or stuck, therapy offers space to reflect and reconnect with what matters most. Together, we’ll look at what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’d like to change.
Life History
Our past shapes how we see ourselves and relate to others. Often, we find ourselves in familiar patterns without knowing why. Therapy helps you understand those patterns and make clearer, more intentional choices moving forward.
Relationships
Relationships can be a source of both joy and difficulty. Therapy offers a space to be heard, reflect on how you connect with others, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Couples & Groups
Whether you’re facing challenges or simply want to strengthen your bond, I offer a supportive space for couples and groups. We can explore repeating dynamics, deepen your understanding of each other, and move toward more meaningful connection.
How I Work
I take a relational, engaged approach—offering space to be heard, while also gently challenging you when needed. My work is informed by ongoing training in areas such as trauma, addiction, anxiety, and disordered eating.

Getting Started:
