About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I am Chloe and I'm a Íø±¬ÃÅ qualified Counsellor/Therapist and a final year doctoral trainee in Counselling Psychology. I have a track record of helping clients overcoming emotional/psychological difficulties and challenging life situations through compassionate and effective therapeutic support and interventions.

I have solid experience supporting clients with a wide range of emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, psychosomatic symptoms, speech or public speaking difficulties, intense mood swings, relationship difficulties such as intimacy issues, break-ups, limerence, divorce and workplace issues such as stress and burnout. I embrace a fully inclusive ethos in my practice and have achieved great results working with clients from a wide ranging of different backgrounds using a culturally sensitive ,LGBTQ+ and neuro affirming approach.

I see counselling as a highly collaborative journey and I strive to offer a safe and non-judgemental space where all your concerns and worries can be safely explored together. I aim to offer my clients genuine understanding, true compassion and a strong commitment to tackle life's difficulties together. At the start of the journey, I will work with the clients to formulate individual goals in therapy and incorporate them flexibly throughout the conversation to guide our work together. I have often been praised by clients for being a great listener with very sharp ears who can pick up subtle cues that are typically overlooked in everyday conversation outside the therapy room. Those cues often turn out to be great catalysts for breakthroughs in therapy and a chance to deepen our self-understanding. I adopt a trauma informed approach in my work and have strong experience working with clients who have experienced physical, psychological or relational traumas, with very positive outcomes.

Practice description

Currently, I work with adults and children in 1:1 individual therapy,  in person or online. I am primarily based in Greenwich, London though I also have access to therapy rooms based in London Bridge and Islington.

I am happy to work with clients either in a short-term, time-limited style or long-term, open-ended exploration.

Therapy is fundamentally a purposeful conversation and my conversational style is warm, intuitive and insightful. Whilst my main role is to listen, I do ask thoughtful questions that will prompt deeper pondering and reflection. I believe insights emerge through active dialogue and our conversation will be guided by the following three key objectives:

Clarity - I will support and guide our conversation in such a way that you will gain more clarity in your speech and thought patterns. The renewed clarity will also help you to become more aware of your automatic/reactive thoughts and behaviour patterns and prompt you to re-evaluate them and act more intentionally going forward.

Purpose - Through our conversation, I will help you to identify and unveil you core values and what matters to you most so you can go on living a more meaningful life; guided and anchored by your core values and beliefs.

Transformation - Our conversation is just a starting point and I am interested in supporting you translating the insights gleaned from therapy into real, tangible benefits outside the therapy room. I see real change in your life outside the therapy room being the ultimate marker of the success of therapy.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet, to understand what's troubling you and whether I can be of help to you.

In the first session, I will invite you to tell me your story and together we will understand what brought you to counselling, what's troubling you and what you are hoping to achieve in counselling. The first session is intended to be an open exploration and a chance for you to decide whether I am the right person to support you on this journey. Sometimes, we may chose to use some psychometric questionnaires/measures to direct and ground our work together.
