About me and my therapy practice

Are you looking to reconnect with yourself and others? Whether you are starting your healing journey or continuing it, entering your own world of therapy will allow you to take stock and explore your relationship with yourself, others and the world.

Perhaps you are experiencing issues with anxiety, depression, relationships, compulsive behaviours, sexuality, grief, anger, ADHD or neurodivergence. Together we can explore whatever is affecting you and find a way forward.

You will be invited to explore yourself as a whole person including the parts of yourself and your history that may be difficult to explore, and the patterns of behaviour that are troubling you.

I offer face to face meeting in cosy and convenient settings in North Cornwall as well as online. Contact me to arrange a free 20 minute introductory call by phone or online. This will give you a chance to decide whether you would like to work together. I will then send you relevant paperwork before your 1st session.

Practice description

I am a registered therapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have extensive experience in the field of compulsive behaviour and addiction, including having worked in a rehab as well as a drug & alcohol agency for the last few years.

My influences include Gabor Mate (Compassionate enquiry), Somatics Work (Peter Levine & co), 12 step systems (AA etc), secular Buddhism (Josh Korda, Plum Village, Triratna), Carl Yung (archetypes and roles in society) and Marshall Rosenberg (Non Violent Communication) amongst others.

I am comfortable working with issues around intimacy, sexuality, internet use and relationship difficulties amongst many others.

My first session

In our first exploratory session we will get a chance to explore in more detail what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get out of it. We can discuss any concerns you have as well as practicalities like for example do you want to be sent worksheets in between sessions or not etc.

I'll also explain a little more about what therapy together would look like - you'll get a sense of whether you want to go ahead and work together and if so how many sessions and how often. I attach my "therapeutic counselling agreement" - I invite you to read it as its quite important in terms of us being on the same page... in our 1st session we'd usually find a few minutes to go over key points in it.
