About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Gosia, and I'd like to start by saying: you're not alone. Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, and reaching out for support takes real courage - but it's also one of the kindest things you can do for yourself.

Whatever you're going through, I'm here to listen and support you with genuine care, understanding, and warmth. As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role isn't to tell you what to do but to walk alongside you, offering a safe and nurturing space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

Counselling is your time - a chance to focus entirely on you and what matters most in your life. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck, navigating a difficult relationship, or working through painful experiences, we'll work together at your own pace to help you find clarity, healing, and a path forward that feels authentically right for you.

How I Can Help

I work with people facing a wide variety of life's challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, stress, and depression
  • Trauma and abuse recovery
  • Low self-esteem or confidence struggles
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship or family difficulties
  • Life transitions or feeling stuck
  • Coping with health challenges or uncertainty

No issue is too big or too small to bring to our sessions. Whatever's on your mind matters deeply, and it deserves care and attention. Whether you're looking to understand yourself better, navigate a difficult situation, or work toward specific changes in your life, I'll be there to guide and support you in a way that feels right for your unique needs.

Practice description

What You Can Expect

I know that starting counselling can feel like a significant step, and it's completely natural to wonder what it will be like. My aim is to make the process as gentle, comfortable, and empowering as possible.

When we work together, my focus is on tailoring our sessions to meet your unique needs. Here's what you can expect:

  • A collaborative partnership: You set the pace, and we'll focus entirely on what matters most to you
  • Complete flexibility: Whether you need space for deep exploration or prefer a more structured approach with practical strategies, we'll adapt to what feels most helpful
  • Strength-focused support: By building on what's already working in your life, we'll explore ways to overcome challenges and nurture hope and possibility
  • Your safe haven: A warm, compassionate space where you can be yourself completely and honestly, talking about anything on your mind without fear of judgement.

How We Can Work Together

I offer flexible options to make counselling accessible and comfortable for you:

  • Face-to-face sessions in Newcastle-under-Lyme for those who prefer an in-person connection
  • Online counselling for convenience, flexibility, or if you're more comfortable in your own space
  • Short-term focused work for specific issues or longer-term exploration for deeper personal growth

Our sessions will be a space where you can talk openly and authentically. Each session is 50 minutes long, giving you sufficient time to explore your thoughts and feelings without feeling rushed.

Starting Our Journey Together

The first step is often the hardest, and I want to make it as easy and comfortable as possible for you. I offer a free 20-minute consultation over the phone or online where we can get to know each other a little. This is your opportunity to ask any questions, share what's bringing you to counselling, and see if we feel like a good fit.

If we decide to work together, we'll create a space where you feel completely comfortable and supported. Depending on what you need, our work together might involve:

  • Exploring your thoughts and feelings in depth
  • Gaining fresh insight into patterns in your life
  • Identifying your existing strengths and resources
  • Working toward specific changes or goals that matter to you

Every session will be guided by your needs and what feels most helpful and meaningful for you at that moment.
