About me and my therapy practice
Would you like to feel deeply heard and accepted while being offered approaches that can foster your change and growth? Welcome, I’m Hannah, and I offer a heartfelt approach to helping you become more of who you want to be in the world.
I’m trained and experienced to support you to navigate inner conflict, life struggles and traumatic experiences, so that you can move forward with greater ease and fulfilment.
I see each person I work with as a unique being on an individual journey yet also deeply connected to the greater whole. I can support your exploration of meaning, purpose, and personal growth.
During our work together I will help you to recognise the unique ways that you have found to navigate life. No one else has walked your path before or faced your exact challenges. Which is why I encourage self-acceptance and celebration of all aspects of yourself.
I believe that which we try to run from, our patterns, parts of us that we dislike, our most uncomfortable feelings, are often the places in us that need the most attention. The exploration of these parts can lead to the most transformative experience in counselling. I can support you with this deeper journey of turning towards these parts.
I don’t offer fixes in therapy, that’s not how true growth happens, I offer compassion, guidance and techniques to help evoke change from within you. I believe that each person has their own inner wisdom and when you are able to connect to that it becomes easier to find your way forward and to enjoy life.
I deeply recognise that societal, cultural or global issues affect the well-being of each of us and our capacity to live authentically. The challenges you face may also be symptoms of systemic forces and oppression.
I’m looking forward to meeting you and being with you on your enriching journey.
You are welcome to contact me with any questions or to arrange a no-cost 20-minute video call consultation call to find out more.
Practice description
Broadly, I offer a transpersonal, integrative, relational and holistic approach. My approach is wide ranging informed by multiple trainings and over 15 years of experience supporting vulnerable people. I mostly offer talk therapy which is interwoven with creative approaches tailored to your needs.
My transpersonal approach means that I encourage you to connect more deeply with your wisdom, depth and sense of connection to the rest of life.
The integrative aspect of my practice includes drawing on psychodynamic approaches. For example, working with the unconscious and exploring how our relationships in the past affect our relationships in the present.
I include Gestalt in my work. This relational aspect of my practice embraces working with the immediate experience of what it feels like for you to be in the counselling space with me. Sharing this experience can increase your awareness of how you experience yourself in relationship to others.
The holistic approach I take includes working with mind, body and feelings. As a long-term student of the Diamond Approach, I bring over 15 years of experience in using somatic practices such as body sensing meditations and exercises.
As a qualified Psychosynthesis Therapist I can include creative approaches such as movement, drawing and guided imagery. If these approaches appeal to you, they can be a powerful way to reveal hidden parts of you, your deepest longings, new possibilities and your potential.
Having a deep love of wild nature and a background in ecotherapy, I also offer Outdoor Therapy at an iconic nature reserve in West Wales where you can be immersed in ancient Welsh Oak woodland and surrounded by the backdrop of Eryri (Snowdonia National Park).
My first session
During this session we will explore what you hope to gain from therapy. I will ask you questions to get to know more about you. These include questions about your current and earlier life, your family and cultural background, relationships, work, study and interests, your health and heart’s desire. You are welcome to bring any questions that you may have, and we will take time to make sure that you have answers for these.
