About me and my therapy practice
Things can suddenly change and life can feel overwhelming. If you’re going through a challenging time or struggling with difficult thoughts and emotions I offer a safe space to be heard and supported. I have a specialism in chronic illness, but offer counselling for a wide range of issues including bereavement, stress, anxiety, depression, low mood, relationship or family issues.
I understand that every experience is individual & unique. I can work with you to navigate life challenges and move forward. If you’re going through a tough time, I appreciate taking that first step can be hard, but you don’t have to struggle alone. When you’re ready, I’m here to help.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified person centred counsellor with my own private practice offering online or telephone counselling which is accessible from anywhere in the UK and ideal for busy lives. I also offer walk & talk therapy at an outdoor location in Selby, which combines a leisurely stroll side by side with the use of traditional counselling. It ideal if you struggle with maintaining eye contact, enjoy being outdoors or want a more relaxed environment.
You can expect a relaxed, non-judgemental space to share what is on your mind and make sense of your thoughts & emotions. It is your time & space to explore what matters most to you.
My background is over 20 years working within the charity sector supporting adults and families affected by chronic illness. I also have experience offering counselling in a range of settings including a well-known mental health charity, working with higher education students an agricultural college and clients a GP medical practice counselling service.
My first session
I appreciate it might feel a bit daunting starting with a new therapist, but you can expect a warm, friendly welcome. The first session is an introduction to the sessions, to get a sense of how we might work together. There will be no pressure to share anything you don’t want to and it will be at your own pace.
An online session is charged at £50 and walk and talk sessions are charged at £55. An online concessionary rate is charged at £45. Payments are made at time of booking and payable via bank transfer.
