About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel overwhelming at times. You might be struggling with your emotions, relationships, or the world around you, and that can be incredibly painful. Therapy offers a space to be heard, understood, and supported as you navigate whatever you're facing.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can talk freely and explore what’s going on for you. My aim is to help you gain deeper insight into your thoughts, feelings, and relationships, so you can start to understand yourself in a new and more accepting and compassionate way. Therapy isn’t about fixing you—you’re not broken. It’s about making sense of your experiences, uncovering patterns that may no longer serve you, and finding ways to move forward that feel right for you.
Practice description
My approach is gentle yet deep, drawing on person-centred , psychodynamic counselling, and Compassionate Inquiry (CI) ,a powerful approach developed by Dr Gabor Maté. This means our work together will be tailored to you—we can explore both the present and the past, making connections between your experiences, emotions, and behaviours. Sometimes, our struggles are rooted in patterns formed long ago, often in response to difficult experiences. Understanding these patterns can bring clarity and open up new possibilities for change and healing.
Compassionate Inquiry, in particular, helps us uncover emotional wounds and beliefs that may be stored in the body and influencing your well-being. By gently exploring these deeper layers, we can begin to release what no longer serves you and create space for self-acceptance and growth.
My first session
The first session is simply a chance for us to meet. It’s a space for you to share a little about what’s brought you to therapy, ask any questions you have, and see how it feels to talk with me. We’ll explore your background and experiences at a pace that feels right for you—there’s no rush, no pressure. By the end of the session, you might have a clearer sense of whether you’d like to continue. If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay too.
What Happens in a Session?
Each session will be shaped by what feels most important to you in that moment. You might want to talk about a specific challenge, or perhaps something deeper is emerging that you’d like to explore. I’ll listen with warmth and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions to help us make sense of things together.
Through this process, we might start to recognise patterns—ways of thinking, feeling, or relating that have developed over time. By gently bringing awareness to these patterns, we can explore whether they still serve you and, if not, how you might begin to shift them.
Therapy isn’t about quick fixes, but over time, it can help you feel more connected to yourself, more at ease in your relationships, and more able to navigate life’s challenges with greater self-compassion.
Next Steps
If you’re feeling drawn to this kind of work, I’d love to hear from you. You’re welcome to get in touch with any questions, or to arrange a first session and see how it feels. There’s no obligation—just a chance to explore whether therapy might be helpful for you.
Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone.
