About me and my therapy practice

I’m a down-to-earth, open-minded and warm person. Originally from Scotland, I have lived in multiple countries before settling in London. Having experienced many transitions and cultures, I understand the complexities of change, identity, and belonging. My practice is a welcoming, safe space for people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

My personal journey with psychodynamic therapy has been transformative in many ways—it’s why I became a psychotherapist and the reason I believe so fully in this process. Nature is also a grounding influence for me, reminding me of our cycles of change and renewal, and I aim to bring that same sense of balance and groundedness into my work with clients. I regularly attend conferences and talks to keep up to date on issues around gender, sexuality, race, class, and disability within psychotherapy. My work is supervised in accordance with Íø±¬ÃÅ accreditation standards.

Training and Experience

I undertook a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University of London. My clinical experience includes working with NHS Talking Therapies through The Awareness Centre in Wandsworth and The Good Mental Health Company in Elephant and Castle. Before this, I completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology and a certificate with Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA).

I am undertaking further on-going training at The Guild of Psychotherapists in psychoanalytic work.

I am an individual member with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ) and subscribe to the Íø±¬ÃÅ Ethical Framework.

Practice description

Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your past experiences and unconscious patterns influence your current feelings and relationships. It’s all about getting to the root of the problem to create long-lasting change.

My first session

Intro call

Usually done online via Google Meet or phone, I will invite you to share why you are thinking about starting therapy at this time. I will ask questions to begin to understand your experiences and needs, but you are always free to answer only what feels comfortable. You are also welcome to ask any questions you have about the therapeutic process with me and what working together might look like.

This call is an opportunity for both of us to decide whether we feel comfortable and well-suited to work together. There is no fee for this initial consultation, and no obligation to continue if it does not feel like the right fit.

Regular sessions

Each week you will be invited to discuss whatever feels most important to you. This might include your current feelings, a recent experience, a recurring pattern in relationships, or perhaps a dream that has lingered with you. I will listen closely and will ask questions to help deepen our exploration. Over time, by bringing awareness to patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, we will start to make meaning of what is going on. This will create movement in how you feel and open space for new ways of navigating relationships and life in general. As we engage in this process, any patterns or issues that may be holding you back will subtly emerge in our interactions. This offers a unique and safe opportunity to explore these dynamics together with care and respect.
