About me and my therapy practice
Are you having a hard time? Feeling a bit lost within yourself?
You might be experiencing anxiety, low moods or depression, feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns that affect your relationships, or simply overwhelmed by what’s going on in your life right now. Whatever brings you here, I’ll work alongside you to explore what’s happening and support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you.
My journey into therapy began in the care sector, where my natural ability to connect with others led me to become a mental health first aider. I saw first hand what truly being listened to did for people, and it amazed me. Through specialist training, I deepened my understanding of emotional support and found a real passion for helping people. That passion inspired me to become a full-time counsellor, dedicated to providing a space that feels safe, supportive, and genuine.
I believe therapy is a place where we can make sense of what’s happening, uncover strengths we didn’t know we had, and begin to heal. Everyone has the capacity for growth, and I’m committed to walking alongside my clients at their pace as they build insight, self-awareness and confidence. Life can be challenging, and the experiences we face can really shape how we feel day to day.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and it’s often the first step toward feeling more in control. What I can offer you is a space where you can talk freely, without judgement. A space to explore, process, and in time, find ways of coping better with the everyday ups and downs.
My role is to offer steady, empathetic support as you work towards feeling more grounded, more empowered, and ultimately, more yourself.
Practice description
My style as a therapist is down to earth. I meet you at your level and work with you at your pace. It’s a grounded conversation with a touch of realism, a chance to look at what’s happening and what patterns might be forming. It’s not about fixing, it’s about understanding. From there, we can begin to make the change.
My approach as an integrative therapist, draws on a range of approaches including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), creating a way of working that’s tailored to you and your experiences. This flexible approach allows us to look at what’s happening in the present while also exploring how past experiences might still be influencing things today.
My first session
My approach to therapy begins with an open and compassionate conversation about what has brought you to seek support. We will do an initial assessment, to work out what you may need and styles will best fit for you. Together, we will explore the different challenges you are facing, gently teasing out the underlying issues that may be contributing to your current experiences.
Over time, we will develop our therapeutic relationship, creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. As we continue through our work together, we will focus on developing coping strategies and enhancing your resilience to difficult situations.
I am here to support and work alongside you through this process with a kind, caring, and tailored approach, helping you navigate life’s challenges and move towards a greater sense of well-being.
