About me and my therapy practice
I understand that life can present us with difficult times and acknowledging the need for help is a sign of strength. Taking that first step to reach out for support can feel incredibly scary and overwhelming.
My experience includes working alongside clients facing a variety of challenges, such as anxiety, trauma, diagnosis, grief, relationship difficulties and simply feeling overwhelmed. I believe that each person is an individual who experiences the world differently and how you are navigating personal issues will be unique to you. I will provide a place where you will be heard, so you can safely explore what’s happening for you, without judgement, without advice. You will be in control our sessions; what we discuss, the changes you want to make and the pace we go at. Whether you are seeking greater personal growth, understanding or healing, I will support you through your process towards a more positive future.
I began my career as a College Lecturer, working alongside teenagers and young adults to teach practical working skills. They were my inspiration to become qualified as a counsellor and since then I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of people from different walks of life.
Practice description
I offer long-term open ended and short-term sessions that can be held online or over the phone, so can work with clients from across the UK. I also offer in person sessions at my therapy room situated in central Henley-on-Thames. There is extensive parking available in Henley town centre and the two closest car parks are a four-minute walk away and offer free parking for an hour. Unfortunately, the room is on the first floor so is not wheelchair accessible.
If you prefer to have sessions outside, I offer walk and talk at various locations in Windsor, Maidenhead and the surrounding areas. I am flexible in this as recognise that your needs may change, so we will review our work regularly and make any necessary changes to ensure it is meeting your expectations.
Counselling is usually agreed on a weekly, open-ended basis until you decide that you are ready to finish and sessions last up to 50 minutes. I am a qualified member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ) and, in all aspects of my work, I strictly adhere to their guidelines and code of ethics relation to confidentiality and professional practice. I am also committed to my own continuous professional development so that I can offer you the highest standard of care.
Please get in touch to discuss the availability of sessions.
My first session
If you feel that we may be a good fit, I invite you to get in touch, either drop me an email or leave a message on my voicemail. If we decide to move forward you can choose if on-line (via Zoom) in person or walk and talk sessions work best for you.
