About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I鈥檓 Georgy, and I鈥檓 here to walk alongside you on your journey toward self-discovery, healing, and growth.

As a person, I value connection, authenticity, and understanding. Life has taught me that everyone carries their own story, filled with both struggles and triumphs, and I believe in the power of being truly heard. My approach to therapy is grounded in creating a space where you feel safe to share your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment.

I鈥檝e experienced the complexities of life firsthand, which allows me to empathize with the challenges you may be facing. Whether it鈥檚 stress, self-doubt, navigating relationships, or a general sense of feeling stuck, I understand how overwhelming these feelings can be鈥攁nd I鈥檓 here to help.

I鈥檓 passionate about fostering genuine human connection and helping people rediscover their sense of purpose and resilience. I believe that even in the darkest moments, we have the capacity for light and growth鈥攁nd I feel honored to witness those transformations in my clients.

Beyond the therapy room, I鈥檓 someone who values the small joys in life鈥攚hether it鈥檚 spending time in nature, exploring new ideas, or connecting with others over shared experiences.

Practice description

In our therapy sessions, we create a space where you can feel truly heard and understood鈥攁 space just for you. We work together at a pace that feels comfortable, exploring the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that brought you here.

At the heart of our sessions is a genuine connection built on trust, empathy, and openness. Together, we focus on what matters most to you, whether that鈥檚 overcoming challenges, finding clarity in difficult situations, or simply understanding yourself better.

My first session

Every session is shaped by your needs. Some days, we might talk through something that鈥檚 been on your mind, while other days, we may take time to reflect on patterns or relationships in your life. You decide what feels right to focus on, and I鈥檓 here to gently guide and support that process.

We鈥檒l work together to uncover your strengths and the tools you already have within you, helping you to feel more empowered and confident. Whether you鈥檙e navigating stress, anxiety, grief, or other personal struggles, we鈥檒l approach each session with compassion and curiosity, focusing on what will help you move forward in the way that feels most meaningful to you.

Our sessions aren鈥檛 about finding quick fixes but about creating lasting change and self-awareness. Over time, you may notice shifts鈥攏ot only in how you feel but also in how you relate to yourself and the world around you.

Let鈥檚 take it step by step, together.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred psychotherapist with a warm, compassionate approach, offering support to adults and young people (11+) who may be struggling with challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, grief, or life transitions.

My therapeutic style is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, resilience, and positive change when provided with the right conditions. In our sessions, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely, at your own pace. I will listen attentively, reflect with you, and gently guide you toward greater clarity and self-awareness.

My background as a project manager and teacher for over 20 years has given me a deep understanding of high-pressure environments and the challenges professionals often face. I now bring this perspective into my therapy work, supporting clients to manage stress, avoid burnout, and cultivate healthier ways of living and working.

I also have a strong passion for working with young people, helping them to navigate academic pressures, social challenges, and identity issues in a supportive and understanding environment.

Whether you are seeking short-term support through a difficult time or longer-term exploration of deeper patterns, I adapt therapy to suit your needs and goals.

Practice description

My practice, based in Atherton (Greater Manchester), offers a calm and confidential setting where you can feel supported to talk openly about what matters most to you. I provide in-person sessions in a private therapy room, as well as secure online or telephone sessions, making therapy accessible wherever you are in the UK.

Clients can expect a warm, professional, and respectful environment. My approach is person-centred, which means that therapy will be guided by your unique experiences and needs, rather than a 鈥渙ne-size-fits-all鈥 method. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, helping you to process difficult emotions, recognise your strengths, and find ways forward that feel authentic to you.

For professionals, I provide focused support around workplace stress, perfectionism, confidence, and balancing competing demands. For young people, I create a safe space to talk about self-esteem, anxiety, academic stress, and relationships. In both cases, clients often find that therapy not only helps them cope better with challenges, but also improves self-awareness, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

As a bilingual therapist, I also provide sessions in Romanian, offering culturally sensitive therapy for those who prefer to explore their difficulties in their first language.

I aim to make therapy approachable and supportive, whether you are coming for the first time or returning to counselling after previous experiences.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute consultation before starting therapy, giving us both the opportunity to meet and see if we feel comfortable working together. This can take place online, by phone, or in person. It is a chance for you to ask questions, share a little about what brings you to therapy, and get a feel for my approach.

The first full session lasts 50 minutes and follows the same structure as future sessions, with the focus on creating a safe and welcoming environment for you to begin sharing your experiences. There is no formal assessment unless required by you or your circumstances, as I believe therapy should begin with listening and understanding. However, I may ask some practical questions, such as your emergency contact details and GP information, to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

The fee for a standard session is 拢55, with a concessionary rate of 拢35 available for counselling students. Payment is made in advance to secure your booking.

The first session is often about setting the foundation鈥攅xploring what you would like to work on, clarifying goals if you have them, and beginning to build trust in our therapeutic relationship. Many clients find it reassuring to know that there is no pressure to share everything at once; we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
