About me and my therapy practice

My approach is integrative and holistic, tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, CBT, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) techniques to support your healing and personal growth. This blend of approaches has proven highly effective, as reflected in the meaningful progress and healing experienced by my clients. I have experience supporting individuals with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, relationship and family issues, trauma, phobias, eating disorders, emotional or sexual abuse, personality disorders, and intergenerational trauma. Together, we will explore the roots of your challenges, deepen your self-awareness, and develop practical strategies to enhance your wellbeing and relationships.

In addition to private practice, I provide counselling through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), supporting individuals experiencing work-related stress, burnout, or personal challenges that affect their wellbeing and performance. This experience allows me to understand the complex relationship between personal life, mental health, and workplace pressures, and to offer practical, compassionate support in both personal and professional contexts.

Practice description

I offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, CBT, and EMDR techniques to meet your individual needs. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and I tailor our work together to support your goals and pace of healing.

Clients often find that this blend of approaches helps them gain deeper self-understanding, process past experiences, and develop practical tools to manage current challenges. My aim is to help you build resilience, strengthen your sense of self, and create more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or low self-esteem, I will support you in moving towards healing, growth, and greater emotional wellbeing.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is one of the approaches I use in therapy. It helps people recover from distressing or traumatic experiences by safely processing difficult memories. EMDR combines bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or sounds, with talk therapy to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they feel less distressing and more manageable. EMDR is widely recognised as an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress, and it can also be helpful for anxiety, depression, phobias, and low self-esteem.

Alongside my private practice, I also provide counselling through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), supporting individuals experiencing work-related stress, burnout, or personal challenges that affect their wellbeing and performance. This experience allows me to understand the connection between emotional health, personal circumstances, and workplace pressures, offering compassionate and practical support tailored to your needs.

My first session

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to share what has brought you to therapy. We’ll complete an initial assessment to explore your current concerns, personal goals, and what you would like to gain from counselling. This session also gives you space to ask any questions and see how it feels to work together in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.

If you’re beginning EMDR therapy, our initial sessions will focus on gentle assessment and preparation work to make sure you feel safe, grounded, and ready for the reprocessing phase. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, building the trust and stability needed for deeper healing.
