About me and my therapy practice
I’m a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor (MÍø±¬ÃÅ) offering a calm, compassionate space where you can reflect and make sense of what’s been happening in your life. My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, shaped by empathy, openness, and respect for your pace.
I believe therapy is about collaboration and curiosity rather than fixing or judging. Together, we’ll explore what’s felt difficult, uncover patterns that may no longer serve you, and support you in finding steadier ground.
Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked with STARS Dorset, supporting adults recovering from sexual abuse and trauma. This experience has strengthened my belief in the importance of trust, safety, and autonomy in the therapeutic relationship.
I also bring many years’ experience supporting young people and adults through career and life transitions, helping them explore identity, confidence, and self-worth — themes that often connect deeply with emotional wellbeing.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in media, NGOs, and education, and lived abroad for over a decade — experiences that shaped my understanding of belonging, identity, and change.
I offer counselling in English and Spanish (también ofrezco sesiones en español), both online and in person in Poole, Dorset.
Practice description
Curious Minds Counselling provides a warm, confidential, and inclusive space for adults seeking support with life’s challenges. You can expect sessions that move at your pace, where you’ll be met with care, consistency, and genuine interest in your experience.
My work integrates Humanistic and Integrative approaches, drawing from Person-Centred, Gestalt, Human Givens and Transactional Analysis theories, with a trauma-informed foundation. This means we can work in ways that feel both reflective and practical — helping you understand yourself while developing tools for daily life.
Clients often come to therapy to explore anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, or the impact of past trauma. I also support people navigating times of change, uncertainty, or self-doubt.
My intention is to help you feel more connected to yourself and others, with greater clarity and self-compassion. Whether you’re seeking short-term support or longer-term exploration, therapy can offer a steady space to pause, process, and grow.
Sessions are available in person in Poole or online across the UK. My practice is LGBTQ+-affirming, neurodiversity-aware, and open to people from all backgrounds.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work before booking. This gives you space to see if we’re a good fit and to share a little about what’s brought you to counselling.
If you decide to begin, our first full session allows us to explore your situation in more depth and to talk through what you’d like to gain from therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we’ll go at your pace.
Sessions take place in a quiet, comfortable, and inviting space in Poole designed to help you feel at ease and able to reflect. Online sessions are also available.
We’ll cover confidentiality, session structure, and practical details. Many people find this first meeting helps them start to clarify their needs and begin the process of change.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly. My standard fee is £55 per session.
