About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, my aim is to support and empower clients as they navigate life’s challenges, helping to rebuild a sense of self, develop healthier coping strategies, and foster more meaningful connections.
My approach is relational and compassionate, grounded in respect, trust, and confidentiality. I work with adults, young people, and families, and have particular experience in areas such as grief and loss, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. I also have a strong interest in working with ex-pats and individuals navigating transitions, identity, and belonging.
I understand that each person’s history and experiences are unique. I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can safely explore whatever you may be carrying.
My training spans both the UK and Australia. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Counselling, with additional postgraduate qualifications in Trauma Counselling and Hakomi Therapy. I’m also currently undertaking further study in Clinical Supervision.
Practice description
I offer a free introductory session, giving you the opportunity to explore what brings you to therapy, consider any goals you may have, and identify potential blocks to your well-being. There’s no pressure to commit, this is a space for you to decide whether working together feels right. If it does, we can arrange ongoing sessions.
My approach is relational at its core. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where feelings and experiences can be explored safely and with compassion. Through this exploration, we can seek understanding, healing, and reconnection, both with yourself and with others.
All sessions are currently held online, with flexible daytime and evening appointments available. While weekly sessions are recommended for consistency, I appreciate that life is unpredictable, and I’m happy to work flexibly to accommodate your needs.
We often carry thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours from the past into the present, some helpful, others less so. Life experiences, particularly those beyond our control, can leave lasting imprints on both mind and body. Therapy at That Therapist offers a space to process these experiences, supporting the restoration of self and a more grounded, authentic way of being.
I believe in the power of finding your authentic voice. While exploring the past can be an important part of healing, I also focus on helping you move forward, to live more fully, thrive, and reach your potential. You deserve that.
My first session
Beginning therapy is the first step toward building confidence and trust, essential foundations of any therapeutic relationship.
Your initial session is free. I often compare choosing a therapist to choosing a book: we need to be a good fit for one another. This first session is an opportunity to explore what brings you to therapy, in a space separate from your usual circle of friends and family. There’s no charge and no obligation, just a chance to see whether That Therapist feels right for you.
Like any meaningful relationship, trust can't be rushed or assumed. It grows over time. You are the expert on your own life, and only you can decide how much you wish to share. While I can offer a safe, supportive environment, it’s important that you feel that safety, and that you believe I can hold space for your emotions, whatever form they take.
I have faith in the therapeutic process. The first step is for you to feel confident in me.
