About me and my therapy practice

People often come to therapy because something no longer feels right - old patterns aren’t working, relationships feel strained, or life feels stuck or overwhelming. You may have spent a long time holding things together, yet beneath the surface there’s a sense of unease or disconnection. Therapy offers a chance to pause and make sense of what’s happening - to understand yourself more deeply and begin to live with greater clarity and ease.

I’m an integrative counsellor, drawing from Gestalt, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis approaches. This means I adapt how I work to suit each person. Sometimes therapy is about exploring feelings and past experiences; other times it’s about recognising patterns in the present and finding new ways to respond. My style is collaborative, warm, and gently challenging - I’ll listen carefully, but I’ll also help you make links, notice what’s emerging in the moment, and develop greater awareness of yourself and your relationships.

Clients often describe therapy with me as a space where things start to make sense - where confusion begins to shift into understanding, and understanding into change. Together we might look at themes such as self-esteem, anxiety, identity, relationships, boundaries, or life transitions. Whatever brings you here, the work is about helping you reconnect with your own sense of agency and authenticity.

I work with adults of all ages, both in-person and online. Sessions are typically weekly, but I offer some flexibility to suit your pace and circumstances. You’re welcome to get in touch for a brief initial conversation to see whether we might work well together.

Practice description

My practice offers a supportive and reflective space to explore what feels difficult, confusing, or stuck. I work with adults who want to understand themselves more deeply, make sense of patterns in relationships, and find new ways of living that feel more authentic and balanced.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on Gestalt, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis approaches. This means I tailor the way I work to each individual. At times, we might focus on exploring emotions or past experiences; at others, we’ll look more directly at what’s happening in the present - how you relate to yourself and others, and what might be keeping certain patterns in place.

My style is warm, grounded and gently challenging. I aim to help you develop awareness and clarity rather than offering quick fixes. Sessions can be a mix of reflection, dialogue and practical exploration - a place to pause, notice, and understand yourself in ways that allow new possibilities to emerge.

Clients often find that through therapy they begin to see themselves with greater compassion and confidence, gaining a clearer sense of who they are and what matters most to them. The work can be both subtle and transformative - small shifts that gradually create more space, choice and freedom in daily life.

I offer sessions in person and online, with flexible daytime and evening appointments to fit different needs and routines. Whether you’re seeking support around anxiety, self-esteem, relationships or a period of transition, I’ll meet you where you are and work collaboratively to help you move forward in a meaningful way.

My first session

I offer a free introductory meeting as an opportunity for us both to get a sense of how it might feel to work together. This first meeting is slightly different from ongoing therapy sessions - it’s a chance for you to share what’s brought you here, ask any questions, and experience my way of working. There’s no expectation to commit at this stage; it’s about finding a good fit.

During this meeting, we’ll talk about what’s currently happening in your life, what you’d like from therapy, and any previous experience you may have had. I’ll also explain a little about how I work, what you can expect from the process, and some of the practicalities such as session length, fees, and confidentiality. Together we’ll consider whether my approach feels right for you and what the next steps might be.

I don’t carry out formal assessments or use questionnaires unless we agree it would be helpful. The focus is on conversation, curiosity, and understanding what you need at this point.

Some clients prefer to start with a one-off consultation before deciding whether to continue; others move straight into sessions. Either is fine - we can find what feels most comfortable for you.
