About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes life can be challenging, feelings of anxiety, sadness, anger, confusion and other emotions that may feel overwhelming.

As a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist I have experience supporting people with grief and loss, as well as many other issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, family dynamics, trauma, childhood experiences and low-self esteem.

I have a particular interest in supporting people through their grief and loss.

Grief and loss affect people in profoundly different ways, and one of the greatest challenges is that there is no single "right" way to process this.

I understand how deeply hard it can be, having experienced my own grief and loss. It can be tough to see a way forward, but having someone supporting, guiding and being beside you in the difficult times, can help you find a way through.

We can work together to help you find that healing path. A relationship between us that is about trust and safety with empathy and compassion. You will be heard without fear of judgement.

If you feel that is something you are looking for, then maybe I could help. Please do get in touch.

Practice description

I see clients in person, and our sessions are for 1hr, typically held once a week, but there is an open discussion around this, if you would prefer fortnightly for example.

There is no time limit on our sessions. This will vary on the individual, some may want a couple of sessions, others may want to continue of a period of time.

After having a career working with horses, which taught me empathy, patience, self-awareness and the importance of non-verbal communication and building trust, I retrained to do something I have always wanted to to:  Help and Support people.

My first session

In the first session, we will look at the counselling agreement and you can ask me anything about it. I may ask you some questions around your general well-being and anything that may be relevant that you might have written on the assessment form, (this will be emailed out to you prior to our first session.) I may ask you what you feel you need support with. We might talk about anything you have already shared with me. You can ask me anything about the counselling process and what you thoughts and feelings are around that.

We go at your pace and what feels right for you.
