About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Helen Cobb (BA Hons , Dip. Couns, M网爆门, NCPS), and I am a highly experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor providing discreet, tailored therapy for professionals, executives, and individuals navigating complex personal and professional challenges.
With over 10 years of experience in the NHS and leading charities across London and Kent, I have worked extensively with high-achieving individuals who face stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, and major life transitions. My clients often include business leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals who need a private, reflective space to process emotions, gain clarity, and enhance emotional resilience.
At Healing Horizons, I offer a calm, confidential, and highly personalised therapeutic experience, allowing you to explore your thoughts and emotions with a structured, results-focused approach.
Practice description
My Approach
I use an integrative model, drawing from a range of psychological approaches to create a bespoke therapy experience for each client. These include:
Transactional Analysis (TA) 鈥 Understanding unconscious patterns in relationships and communication
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) 鈥 Managing high-performance stress and breaking unhelpful thinking cycles
Psychodynamic Therapy 鈥 Exploring deeper emotional influences and past experiences
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) & Mindfulness 鈥 Cultivating self-awareness and emotional balance
My expertise includes working with clients facing:
High-functioning anxiety & stress management
Executive burnout & work-life balance challenges
Relationship & family conflicts (including high-profile separations)
Childhood trauma & emotional wounds
Loss, bereavement, and identity shifts
Self-esteem, confidence & imposter syndrome
Major life transitions (career changes, midlife adjustments, retirement planning)
If you are navigating personal or professional pressures and need a therapist who understands the unique demands of success, I offer a discreet and highly skilled space for you to explore your concerns.
My first session
30-minute in-depth telephone consultation
I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to explore your needs and ensure we are the right fit. This is an opportunity to discuss your goals and concerns in a confidential setting. Many of my clients are used to high-performance environments where self-reflection is often deprioritised鈥攖his call is the first step in recalibrating your emotional well-being.
50-minute comprehensive assessment session
Your first full session is a 50-minute private consultation, designed to:
Gain a deeper understanding of your experiences and psychological patterns
Define clear objectives for therapy, whether short-term strategic support or long-term self-development
Introduce therapeutic techniques suited to your individual needs
Provide an initial experience of my approach before committing to ongoing work
This highly personalised assessment allows us to establish a framework for our sessions, ensuring that your time in therapy is efficient, structured, and tailored to your lifestyle and ambitions.
I work exclusively with a select number of clients to maintain a high level of focus and care. If you feel I may not be the right therapist for you, I can refer you to other experienced professionals who align with your specific requirements.

About me and my therapy practice
Beneath achievement, many people feel a quiet unease 鈥 a sense that something鈥檚 missing or out of sync. My role is to help you explore what鈥檚 beneath the surface, so you can live with greater clarity, connection, and emotional freedom.
Through my practice, Healing Horizons, I provide a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, make sense of what鈥檚 happening, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may feel lost or overwhelmed.
Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-achieving professionals in their 30s and 40s who appear to have it all together, yet internally feel anxious, disconnected, or uncertain about what they truly want. Therapy offers a chance to pause, understand these patterns, and create lasting change from the inside out.
My approach is integrative, blending Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and parts work inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we explore the different parts of you 鈥 the one that pushes forward, the one that doubts, the one that longs for peace 鈥 and work towards greater harmony and self-acceptance.
With over 10 years of experience in the NHS and leading mental health charities across London and Kent, I bring warmth, curiosity, and psychological depth to my work. Whether you鈥檙e facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, burnout, or work-related stress, I offer therapy that goes beyond surface-level coping.
Managing symptoms can be like placing a plaster over a gaping wound 鈥 it might help for a while, but eventually the plaster comes off. My focus is on helping you understand and heal what lies beneath, so real change can take place.
Therapy with me isn鈥檛 about quick fixes 鈥 it鈥檚 about creating emotional depth, self-understanding, and an inner steadiness that helps you feel more connected and alive in your everyday life.
Practice description
At Healing Horizons, I offer one-to-one counselling and longer-term therapy, both in person in Tunbridge Wells and online, providing flexibility and accessibility from the comfort of your own space.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic models to suit your individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. I incorporate elements of:
Transactional Analysis (TA) 鈥 to explore patterns in relationships and communication
Psychodynamic Therapy 鈥 to understand how early experiences shape who you are today
Parts work (inspired by Internal Family Systems) 鈥 to help you reconnect with and heal the different aspects of yourself
I work with adults experiencing:
Relationship challenges (conflict, breakups, communication difficulties, toxic patterns)
Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression and low mood
Work-related stress, burnout, and overwhelm
Low self-esteem and confidence issues
Trauma and emotional neglect (including childhood experiences and PTSD)
Loss and bereavement (grief, identity loss, or life transitions)
Major life changes (career uncertainty, midlife reflections, redundancy, or relationship shifts)
Identity and self-discovery
My clients often describe therapy as a place where they can finally stop 鈥渉olding it all together鈥 and begin to make sense of what鈥檚 underneath. Our work goes deeper, helping you to understand, heal, and move towards a more grounded and connected sense of self. If you鈥檙e feeling stuck, anxious, or uncertain about your direction, therapy can help you find clarity, emotional balance, and a renewed sense of confidence in who you are.
My first session
When you first get in touch, you will be offered a free 30-minute consultation, either via Zoom or telephone. This relaxed conversation gives you the chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of how I work. It鈥檚 an opportunity to explore whether my approach feels like the right fit for you before booking a full session.
The next step is agreeing a regular weekly session slot, providing consistent, dedicated time to focus on your emotional well-being, personal growth, and the challenges you may be facing.
Your first full session is a 50-minute mental health assessment, which serves as the foundation for our work together. During this session, we will:
Explore your personal history, experiences, and current challenges
Identify the areas you would like to focus on in therapy and your goals for change
Discuss how I work and which therapeutic approach may best support you
Begin to create a framework for ongoing sessions that is tailored to your needs
The assessment session provides clarity, direction, and a supportive starting point for therapy. Each session after this lasts 50 minutes, giving you a regular space to reflect, understand patterns, and build greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and confidence in navigating both work and personal life.
