About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes it can feel life is pulling you down a road you didn’t choose. You know there’s more coming at you that you want time to prepare for, or maybe there’s something over your shoulder that you want time to deal with and shake off, but life just keeps hurtling incessantly along throwing more at you.
Counselling can be a place to step off, to breath. to take a pause, calm the noise in your head, and rest. A place to sort out what’s happening, that’s just for you. Perhaps you are struggling to speak up for yourself, or feel unsure of what to say, even if you had the chance. Maybe you’re feeling weighed down by low self-esteem, carrying the weight of shame that you can’t shrug off, or dealing with the emotional aftermath of an earlier depression, or unresolved issues from childhood that still haunt you.
Maybe you have simply lost your way and don’t recognise yourself, don’t know who you are or where you went. Maybe life events mean you are questioning your place, the role you play, and what life means for you now that everything around you is changing.

Practice description
Whatever it is that brought you here, you don’t have to keep battling it alone. You can't change your past, and you can't stop life coming at you, but you can change how it impacts you, and that’s where I can help.
It’s not an interview, and I won’t be giving you advice or homework or a label. We just talk. We go at your pace, and talk about the things that you want to talk about, when you feel ready to do so. There are no right or wrong answers, and I won’t judge you. We might laugh and swear, and sometimes we might cry, but whatever emotions we face, we will be facing them together to help you find a way to feel better in the here and now, and when looking to your future.
I can help you find focus through talking, and when you can't find the words, I have creative ways to help find what it is you're feeling, and help you break that down into tangible emotions.
Sessions are a 50 minutes, and you can choose weekly or fortnightly depending on what works for you.
My first session
Therapy only works when you have a trusting relationship with your counsellor, so the first session is to introduce ourselves and see if you feel comfortable with me, to see if you feel you might be able to share with me. There's no pressure, you can decide you want to continue, or decide you would rather keep looking.
I will explain about confidentiality, answer any questions you have, and you can take it at your pace.
