About me and my therapy practice
I help adults, children & young people feel less stressed/anxious, improve their self-esteem, and feel more connected to themselves and others. I have specialist training (Place2Be) in counselling children/young people and I also specialise in grief/bereavement counselling for adults.
My approach is
- trauma-informed
- neuro-affirmative
- LGBTQ+ friendly
- As part of a multicultural family, I am culturally sensitive.
I start by building a safe, trusting relationship as I believe this is key to effective therapy. As an integrative counsellor, I use a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. This may include creativity e.g. art or sand tray when things feel too painful to talk about.
With a background in teaching and more recently in complementary therapies, I have many years' experience of supporting people of all ages and backgrounds.
I take a holistic view of your difficulties, helping you to become more aware of the emotional, physical and psychological impact of your experiences. Together, we can identify coping strategies or perhaps delve more deeply into root causes.

Practice description
My therapy room in Staines TW18 is a comfortable, welcoming space in which you can be yourself. I also work with clients online.
I offer both short-term counselling (6-12 weeks) and longer term counselling (up to a year or more). Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly, taking place at the same time every week. Each session costs £50 and is payable in advance.
I have a current enhanced DBS certificate and undertake regular training and development.
Please visit www.stainescounselling.co.uk for more information, or to book a free initial phone call.
My first session
I offer a free 15-20 minute phone or video call so that I can explain how I work, and so you can ask questions. We might also arrange a first appointment at this point.
The first appointment is a 50 minute session which is an assessment of your needs. This gives me the opportunity to establish whether I have the right skills and experience to support you. You will also get an idea of how it feels to have counselling with me.
