About me and my therapy practice

Life has its ups and downs. If you're finding it hard to cope, feeling lost or facing change, challenge or conflict, therapeutic counselling can help you gain perspective, deepen your self-awareness and cultivate acceptance - so that you can navigate life in a way that feels right for you.

Starting counselling can be daunting and it takes courage to recognise that you need help. Finding the right counsellor is the first step and I appreciate that you may feel nervous. So I'm here to support you and look forward to us working together.

I’m a qualified therapeutic counsellor offering a person-centred approach, which means our work together is guided by empathy, respect and genuine understanding. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore what matters most to you. My aim is to create a consistent environment of acceptance - where you feel free to express yourself, navigate life’s challenges and move toward personal growth and improved wellbeing.

I bring a rich background from the corporate and charity sectors, including:

  • Several years as a bereavement counsellor at St Raphael’s Hospice in Cheam, London
  • Nearly 20 years as a Samaritan, supporting individuals in emotional distress

I also hold a valid DBS certificate and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), demonstrating my commitment to confidentiality and data protection.

Practice description

Counselling is a talking therapy that provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, experiences and concerns - especially those that may feel too difficult to share with others in your life.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role as your counsellor is to listen with empathy and support you as you:

  • Explore existing and alternative perspectives.
  • Better understand how you relate to others and yourself.
  • Increase your self-awareness and acceptance.
  • Find alternative options and ways of coping.
  • Move forward in the way that's right for you.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Whether you're experiencing grief, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed, your experience of counselling will be unique to you - because your story, your needs and your goals are entirely your own.
