About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Kate, and I offer counselling to individuals and couples who want a bit of space to think, feel, and figure things out. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure where to begin. You don’t need to have it all worked out before coming to therapy. That’s what we’ll explore together.

I work in a calm, supportive, and relaxed way, creating a space where you can be yourself without pressure or judgement. Whether you're coming alone or with your partner, we’ll work together to better understand what’s going on, untangle what’s getting in the way, and move towards the changes you want to see.

You might be going through a big life shift; like becoming a parent, ending or repairing a relationship, navigating loss, or changing careers. Life can feel messy and uncertain during these times, and it’s okay to reach out for support.

As well as being a therapist, I’m also a qualified coach specialising in leadership and personal development, and I offer coaching packages separately for those looking for a more structured, goal-focused space.

Practice description

I'm an integrative therapist, trained in person-centred therapy (PCT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA), and Imago Relationship Therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I tailor our work to suit you or your relationship.

For individuals, person-centred therapy offers a space where you’re really heard and accepted. CBT helps explore unhelpful patterns in thoughts and behaviours. TA looks at how past experiences shape how you relate now. Together, these approaches help us make sense of things and move toward meaningful change.

For couples, I primarily use Imago Relationship Therapy, a structured and compassionate approach that helps partners move from conflict and disconnection to deeper understanding and emotional safety. A key part of this work is the Imago Dialogue, which helps both people feel truly heard without blame or defensiveness. It can be especially helpful for couples stuck in conflict, feeling distant, or navigating trust issues and life transitions.

I offer therapy online or in person, both short- and long-term, depending on your needs. People come to me with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges, identity questions, or simply a desire to reconnect with themselves or each other.

I also offer walking therapy for individuals who prefer to talk outdoors. Nature can offer a grounding and calming backdrop for the work.

Sessions for individuals are 55 minutes and cost £60. Couples sessions are usually 90 minutes, fortnightly, at £120, or £90 for 60 minutes. Coaching packages also available—please get in touch to learn more.

My first session

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure. To help with that, I offer a free 30-minute phone chat so we can get to know each other a little and see if it feels like a good fit.

If you decide to go ahead, our first full session is a gentle introduction. We’ll take time to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, explore a bit about your background, and look at what you’re hoping to get from the process. We’ll also go through some practical bits like setting boundaries and agreeing how we’ll work together (this is called contracting).

For couples, the initial session is usually 60 minutes to introduce the Imago Dialogue and work together to create a safe space to allow honest communication to start.

There’s no pressure or obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you—it’s really important that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist.
