About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Kate, and I offer counselling to adults who want a bit of space to think, feel, and figure things out. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start—but you don’t need to have it all worked out before coming to therapy. That’s what it’s for.

I work in a calm, supportive, and relaxed way, creating a space where you can be yourself without pressure or judgement. Together, we can explore whatever you’re carrying—whether it’s something from the past, something happening now, or just a general sense that things aren’t quite right.

You might be going through a big change, like becoming a parent, ending a relationship, changing careers, or dealing with loss. Life can feel messy during these times, and it’s okay to ask for support.

I am also a qualified coach, specialising in leadership and personal development coaching, and I offer coaching packages, please reach out for further information on this.

Practice description

I’m an integrative therapist, which means I’m trained in several different types of therapy—person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and transactional analysis (TA). I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I draw on all three depending on what feels most helpful for you.

Person-centred therapy puts you at the heart of the process, offering a space where you’re really heard and accepted. CBT can be helpful for understanding patterns in your thoughts and behaviours, and finding practical ways to shift them. Transactional analysis looks at how past experiences and relationships shape how we think, feel, and relate to others now. Together, these approaches can help us make sense of what's going on and move towards real change.

I work one-to-one with adults, either online or in person, and offer both short- and long-term therapy depending on what you need. People come to me with all sorts of experiences—anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, grief, identity questions, low self-esteem, or simply wanting to reconnect with themselves.

I also offer walking therapy, where we have our sessions outdoors instead of in a traditional room. Some people find it easier to talk while walking side-by-side, and being in nature can help you feel more relaxed, grounded and connected to yourself.

Counselling sessions are 60 minutes long and cost £60. Coaching packages vary, please enquire for further details.

My first session

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure. To help with that, I offer a free 30-minute phone chat so we can get to know each other a little and see if it feels like a good fit.

If you decide to go ahead, our first full session is a gentle introduction. We’ll take time to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, explore a bit about your background, and look at what you’re hoping to get from the process. We’ll also go through some practical bits like setting boundaries and agreeing how we’ll work together (this is called contracting).

There’s no pressure or obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you—it’s really important that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist.
