About me and my therapy practice
I support young people aged 12+ and adults to talk about their problems. In peaceful surroundings I provide a relaxed and calm space for you, or your child, to talk about the things that are keeping you awake at night, or always niggling at the back of your mind.
As well as supporting adults, I work with young people. I enable a young person to feel safe and comfortable in the session, giving them the space to talk about what they’re going through. I have over 20 years of experience in working with young people in school settings and youth clubs, and for two years I have been counselling for a young person’s charity. I have a range of games and crafts that young people might enjoy using while we talk, putting them at ease and allowing us to get to know each other.
You can visit my website https://compasscounsellinguk.co.uk/ for more information about me and the way I work.
Practice description
I offer a person-centred approach, where the counselling sessions are guided by you and what you want to talk about. I have worked with a wide range of issues such as relationship problems, family dynamics, money worries, health concerns, school issues, personal identity, and anxiety.
You can have a free 15-minute session where we can explore what your needs are and how I can support you. You can meet me, learn more about how I work and see if I’m the right fit for you.
We can work together in-person at The Happy Body Project, Haynes (near Bedford on the A6), or online, or a combination of both. I can work with your needs and other commitments. It is set in beautiful countryside surroundings, making it an ideal place for reflection and peace.
My first session
Following our initial call and discussions, if you choose for us to work together, we will make an agreement for the sessions to take place at a suitable day and time.
In our first session you will be able to explore your reasons for coming to counselling in more depth and we can set out how we're going to work together. You can ask me any questions you have about counselling and how I work, and I can share with you how I can support you, and begin to learn more about you and your world. Together we can decide how many sessions we'll have and when the sessions will end. We can review our work regularly to see how it's going for you and if you want to make any changes to the way we work together.
