I offer in-person sessions on a Sunday between 9-2pm. Sessions will take place in Chorlton, South Manchester (M21 8AE).
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor offering one-to-one therapy sessions for children and young people aged 11 to 21. My integrative, person-centred approach places the client at the heart of the therapeutic journey. Sessions can incorporate creative tools such as art, clay, and sand tray to help articulate thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to verbalise. Together, we work through challenges while fostering the child’s self-confidence and emotional well-being, addressing issues such as:
- Anxiety
- Grief and loss
- Change (e.g., starting a new school)
- Friendship and relationship difficulties
- Bullying
- Identity, culture, race and belonging experiences
- Self-esteem issues. And other challenges that children and young people may face.
I have over ten years of experience in education and the youth development field and can build positive rapport with children and young people. I have volunteered with Place2Be, a children’s mental health charity, and spent a decade as a learning support worker in a specialist school for students with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs.
Practice description
My person-centred approach means that sessions are non-directive. I will always invite the client to lead the direction of their session. My aim is to walk beside each client, meeting them where they are and working at a pace that feels right for them. Building trust is at the heart of my work. I strive to maintain a warm, accepting, and non-judgemental space to address sensitive topics and support positive changes. I have experience supporting neurodivergent students in an educational setting, including those with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. I am committed to helping children with additional needs feel safe and comfortable in the therapy room.
