About me and my therapy practice

Are you going through challenges that are causing anxiety, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and depressed? You may have experienced childhood trauma or may be being misunderstood in relationships. Seeking compassionate therapy is the opportunity to begin a life changing journey where you – not others- shape your future and tell and live the story of who you really are.

As a compassionate counsellor I provide a listening ear in a safe space - this space is yours to ‘see and know the real you’, both expressing and validating your feelings. I am passionate in facilitating needed change. I will support the self-exploration of your inner strengths, deepen your self-understanding, and work towards achieving the healing and wholeness you deserve.

Many of your present challenges which leave you feeling heavy, are rooted in past relationships and experiences - these may have caused wounding, leaving you with feelings of loss, hopelessness and despair. So it is important for you to explore them and understand their impact in your present life.

Finding the right counsellor to trust and talk through these issues can be unnerving and requires bravery. As a counsellor whose past challenges have benefitted from confidence building therapy, I understand the importance of a safe space that is warm and non-judgemental. I offer a supportive and collaborative relationship to explore your issues- one that is curious but respectful. Genuine relationship is key to your therapy; it is accepting, feels safe and makes you feel heard.

Experience

I am an experienced University counsellor, having practiced at the London Interdisciplinary School, Whitechapel.

As an experienced secondary school teacher, I understand, and can help with, the unique anxieties and pressures that school-children and young adults face.

I have experience working with young people, adults, older people and those from diverse ethnic groups and communities.

Practice description

As a Psychotherapeutic Integrative counsellor I uniquely counsel each client by using different theories (e.g. psychodynamic), skills, tools and techniques to explore your past experiences, imposed expectations, relationship patterns and their behavioural and emotional expression.

We will take time to unearth the ‘real you’ beneath the buried layers of the past - the 'you' whose feelings need to be expressed and validated. In this safe space we will explore and challenge negative thought patterns (built on the invalidating expectations of others), gradually exchanging them for more beneficial ones that will support a healthier mind.

I work with you to repair and restore your autonomy and strengthen your agency in relationships. You set your own goals so your therapy is tailored to your unique relational needs; I will trust you, as expert, to decide how you would like your therapy to be.
