About me and my therapy practice
It takes tremendous courage to dive deeper into our own experience, and a great deal of compassion to forgive, understand and heal difficulties we might encounter along the way.
Being a human being is a rich, complex and challenging process. There is therefore nobility in showing up at all, whether we feel we are flying high and firing on all cylinders, or stuck in a rut and feeling out of options or people to turn to.
I am here alongside you in your healing process, to support you in feeling more centred in your life - cultivating awareness, autonomy and self-compassion. I offer a welcoming space to trust and grow from a place of depth and understanding.
Practice description
I work with clients who want to grow in and deepen their understanding of themselves, to connect dots and experience themselves at the centre of their own story. It is an honest and sometimes painful process, but one that is held with trust and intention by both of us in a therapeutic alliance. We can aim up whilst being compassionate toward how things are right at this moment, as well as towards where your difficulties may have originated.
Therapeutic Process
I am an Integrative therapist and I work relationally.
The benefit of Integrative therapy is flexibility and a dynamic approach. I am trained in Person-centred, Gestalt, CBT, Transaction analysis, psychodynamic and existential ways of working among others - and these each may naturally serve you and the collaborative process in varying amounts.
We are hard wired as relational beings, which can make life a joyous and loving experience but also many of our problems are experienced in relation to others, if not to ourselves. I place value on the relationship between us as an opportunity for understanding, playing out, undoing and improving such difficulties - growing in trust and security in yourself and in relation to the world and others.
Next Steps
If you feel working together may be the right next step for you, I invite you to request a free 20 minute video consultation as an open opportunity to connect. Please of course share as little or as much as you feel comfortable, both in reaching out and during our 20 minute session.
You might feel after our chat that this isn't the right fit for you and that is absolutely ok, I respect your decision regardless and wish you the best in your search and process.
If you would like to proceed, we will discuss options for arranging a weekly 50 minute session. These are open-ended (rather than a specific quantity), and can be stopped at any time you decide.
I believe in this beautiful and difficult work, and I look forward to walking alongside you in this phase of your journey.
My first session
(1) Free 20 minute initial consultation
An exploratory conversation, an opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of what working together might be like.
(2) First session
Gently structured around an assessment. This allows us land into the space, deepen understanding of difficulties you might be experiencing, and identify your intentions and goals for therapy.
(3) Sessions thereafter
Held weekly and open-ended. Longer sessions are an option subject to availability, and we may collaboratively agree to amend frequency or duration after a period of working together.
Cancellation
Kindly note I operate a 48 hour cancellation policy
