About me and my therapy practice

I am a passionate, caring counsellor who has extensive experience working with children and young people to support them to navigate life's ups and downs. I am described as down-to-earth, understanding and non-judgemental. Watching your child struggle with difficult emotions is difficult, and reaching out for support for your child can feel like a big decision, especially if you're not sure what to expect. You or your child might be feeling uncertain, vulnerable or wondering if it's the right time. Reaching out is a courageous first step, and I am here to meet you with compassion, curiosity and care. I will work with your child to explore how they are feeling, and support them to navigate life to build the life you want for them and they deserve - one where they are happy.

I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where I will work at your child's pace. Therapy with children and young people is playful and relaxed, helping them to feel safe and understood, thus able and confident in expressing themselves. I draw on a number of different approaches as a trained integrative counsellor, adapting to the needs of the child or young person in front of me.

I can support your child to develop their understanding of their emotions, to navigate difficult experiences like bereavements or parental divorce, to explore different ways to manage anger, and more.

Practice description

I offer in person sessions in Stockport, and offer flexible daytime and early evening sessions. I believe children engage best in face to face therapy, but if you feel your child might benefit best from online therapy, please contact me to discuss this.

I am experienced in working with neurodivergent children, adapting my practice as necessary to meet their needs (including sensory needs, communication preferences and supporting emotional regulation). Feel free to contact me to discuss any specific needs your child has.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute consultation call (on the phone or online) to help us to get to know each other a bit, and for you to ask any questions you have. You don't need to decide in this call whether you want to go ahead with counselling. There's no pressure or commitment – just a chance to explore whether I might be the right fit for your child.

In the first full session I will spend some time with you and your child, to explore what brings your child to therapy and go through some practical bits like setting boundaries and agreeing how we’ll work together.

I offer short, medium, and long-term counselling. This means we can adapt the number of sessions to best meet your child's needs, reviewing this regularly as we progress.

About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with anxiety, bereavement, stress, or low mood – or simply feel stuck and unsure how to move forward? Starting counselling can feel like a big decision – especially if you’re not sure what to expect. You might be feeling uncertain, vulnerable or simply wondering if it’s the right time. Reaching out is a courageous first step, and I’m here to meet you with compassion, curiosity and care. Together we can explore what you feel you need, and what changes you want to make to build the life you want and deserve, and to be happy. I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where we can work at your pace.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to create a way of working that suits you as an individual. My approach is all about you, creating a space where you are genuinely listened to, accepted for you and supported to explore things in your own way. My training means I can help you to explore how your early experiences and relationships are influencing how you think and feel today. I can work with you to identify any patterns in your thoughts and behaviours, and we can explore these together. The basis of our work together will be a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, where you can feel safe to be open and honest.

My clients describe me as down-to-earth, understanding and non-judgemental. Therapy is a reflective and empowering process, helping you to understand yourself more deeply and make meaningful changes in your life. I firmly believe that your experiences make you the expert in you – I can work with you to help you understand your own answers.

I am sensitive to your cultural and ethnic origins and to your religious beliefs, gender identity, age, disability, and sexual orientation.
