About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Lorain, and I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ).
I offer Person-Centred counselling, providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns at your own pace. My approach is focused on supporting you to gain self-understanding, identify patterns or behaviours that may be affecting your wellbeing, and find practical ways to manage challenges more effectively.
I offer 50-minute sessions, which can be scheduled weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, depending on what works best for you. Therapy can continue for as long as you feel you are gaining benefit, giving you the time and space to explore what matters most. Sessions are available in person (subject to availability) or online via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, or telephone.
I am here to listen without judgment and to support you in finding your own path to growth and wellbeing.
Practice description
It’s good to talk. I provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore your feelings, emotions, and behaviours, and consider areas of acceptance or change. My aim is to support you as you navigate the challenges you’re facing, at your own pace and in your own way.
I am a trained Person-Centred Counsellor and Level 5 Child Trauma qualified, fully insured, DBS checked, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ), working in line with their ethical framework.
I have experience supporting individuals who have survived domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as those experiencing suicidal thoughts or tendencies, with a particular interest in men’s mental health.
Recently, my work has also focused on young adults and teenagers, many of whom are diagnosed with, awaiting a diagnosis of, or show signs of ADHD or neurodiversity.
In addition, I specialise in supporting women navigating perimenopause and post-menopause, offering a compassionate and understanding space to express and process their experiences.
Above all, I provide a confidential, non-judgemental environment where you can feel safe to explore your concerns and begin the process of healing, growth, and self-discovery.
My first session
During the first session, we will go through the client contract to ensure clarity around confidentiality, boundaries, and the counselling process. This session is also an opportunity to explore whether the therapeutic relationship is a good fit for both of us.
We will discuss what you are hoping to gain from therapy, your goals, and any concerns or expectations you may have. This helps us work collaboratively to create a supportive and personalised plan for your sessions.
