About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Lorain, I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ.

I offer Person Centred counselling providing you with a safe confidential space to explore your concerns and feelings helping you to identify behaviours to help manage any problems or issues you may be encountering.

I offer 50 minutes sessions once a week for a series of up to10 sessions over Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp or telephone. Number of sessions can be discussed and changed to meet client’s needs.

Practice description

It's good to talk. I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore your feelings, emotions, and behaviours, and consider areas of acceptance or change. My aim is to support you as you navigate whatever challenges you’re facing, at your own pace and in your own way.

I am a trained Person-Centred Counsellor, fully insured, DBS checked, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ), working in line with their ethical framework. As part of my ongoing professional development, I am currently studying Level 5 Child Trauma and enrolled in a Level 5 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) course.

I have experience working with individuals who have survived domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I have  supported those experiencing suicidal thoughts or tendencies, with a particular interest in men’s mental health.

Recently, my work has also focused on young adults and teenagers, many of whom are either diagnosed with or awaiting a diagnosis of ADHD or show signs of being neurodiverse.

In addition, I specialise in supporting women navigating perimenopause and post-menopause, offering a compassionate, understanding space to express and process their experiences.

Above all, I provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can feel safe to explore your concerns and begin the process of healing and growth.

My first session

Our first counselling session will focus on introductions, establishing a working agreement, and setting clear boundaries. This initial meeting is also an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin to explore any issues you wish to bring to therapy. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and express any concerns, helping us build a supportive and collaborative relationship, one where you feel heard, respected, and valued.
