About me and my therapy practice

Hi! I'm Sarah and I am a counselling psychotherapist, life coach, mental illness specialist, couples/relationship therapist, children & young people counsellor, and sex/kink therapist. I offer a unique style of therapy, counselling, and coaching which is realistic, sometimes challenging, but always adapted to your needs. I offer a different perspective and outside the box thinking through my life experiences, neurodivergence, and continued training . I have worked in a supporting role as a carer, counsellor, kink/fetish facilitator, relationship/couples therapist, LGBTQIA & transgender volunteer work for the past 30 years.

I specialise in trauma, abuse, EUPD/BPD, gender identity, relationship struggles, sexuality, neurodivergent challenges, and helping with difficulties life throws at us. I also offer life coaching and finding solutions to whatever problems you are facing. I have a variety of experience supporting individuals, children & young people, couples, and families.

I truly empathise with clients struggles due to my abusive childhood, parents divorce, loss of my mother as a teenager, pattern of abusive relationships, my own divorce from a narcissistic husband, and mental health struggles. I was diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD/BPD) which I worked through to manage and understand in therapy.

Practice description

I offer in person sessions at my home using my newly furbished, quiet, comfortable counselling room.

Sessions will be an hour long, but additional time can be added when needed.

Online sessions are available as well as walk & talk, text, and telephone. Sessions can be a blend of the above.

During the time we spend together, I will ask questions and build a picture of the difficulties you are facing. Think of it as a chat where you are in control of the subject. Together, we will uncover the reasons you are struggling. We will work on these issues using different approaches suited to your requirements.

The aim of therapy is to help you understand yourself and those around you. Challenge your thoughts and behaviours to improve your life.

My first session

The first session we spend together gives us both the opportunity to get to know one another.

It is important that we both feel comfortable and a good match in order for therapy to help.

The first session can last longer than an hour, but you will not pay extra for this.

I encourage my clients to ask me questions about therapy, how I work, and about myself.

It is a two way therapeutic relationship In which I want you to feel safe, heard, and understood.

Confidentiality is foremost as is offering a non judgement relationship.

There is nothing you can bring to sessions that will shock me or is off limits.

I have fidget toys available, a comfortable sofa, and you are free to move around.

I encourage clients to feel relaxed and at home in my therapeutic space.

If you require additional items to help you express yourself or feel more relaxed, please let me know. Anything you are uncomfortable with in my room, can be removed.

Additionally, if you would like to bring anything with you that might help you in sessions, please discuss these with me.

I have well behaved dogs who will be secured and out of the counselling room.

I often employ one of them to join us in sessions with clients who request their company.
